WBJEE 2022 West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Notification

WBJEE 2022 – West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has been invited online applications for West Bengal Joint Entrance Exams (WBJEE) 2022 for admission into Undergraduate Courses of Engineering & Technology /Pharmacy /Architecture in various institutions of West Bengal for the academic year 2022-23. WBJEE 2022

  • West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) as a state-level exam Every Year for the admission into Tech and B.Pharma Courses in various universities, Govt., Private and self-financing Engineering Colleges in the State of West Bengal
  • The Exam will be conducted through OFFLINE mode for those applicants who completed their XII Class (10+2) Exam in the state.
  • WBJEE is conducted every year by West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB)
  • For 2022-23 academic sessions, the Board will conduct the Common Entrance Exam for admission to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in the State.

Eligibility Criteria for WBJEE 2022

  • Eligibility criteria of WBJEE 2022 include the restriction on nationality, age, educational qualification, and domicile.
  • Nationality: Applicants must be Indian nationals.

 Age Limit

  • A applicant must be at least 17 years of age (as on December 31, 2022) to appear for the exam. This means an aspirant should have been born on or before December 31, 2004. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the WBJEE 2022.
  • However, for admission to the Marine Engineering Course, the lower age limit is 17 years as on December 31, 2022 and the upper age limit is 25 years as on December 31, 2022.

Educational Qualification

For admission to Engineering Courses

  • Applicant must have passed the Qualifying Exam i.e. the ‘10+2’ Exam with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of applicants belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ Exam with at least 30% marks.
  • The Board of the said Qualifying Exam must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned.

For admission to Pharmacy Courses

  • Applicant must have passed ‘10+2’ Exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of applicants belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ Exam with at least 30% marks.

Important consideration in terms of academic qualification

  • A applicant appearing in the Qualifying Exam i.e. the ‘10+2’ Exam in 2021 may sit in the WBJEE-2022 but shall not be eligible for allotment of seat for admission if he/she does not pass the Qualifying Exam with the required minimum eligibility criteria.

Institute specific Special Eligibility Criteria

University of Calcutta

  • All available Courses except ‘Jute & Fibre Technology: Pass ‘10+2’ or equivalent Exam with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with at least 60% (55% for Reserve Category Students) marks in all the above three subjects taken together, individual pass marks (both in theory & practical wherever applicable) in each of the subjects and with at least 30% marks in English
  • Jute & Fibre Technology Course: Pass ‘10+2’ or equivalent Exam with Physics/Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry /Biotechnology/Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 45% (40% for Reserve Category Students) marks in all the above three subjects taken together, individual pass marks (both in theory & practical wherever applicable) in each of the subjects and with at least 30 % marks in English

Jadavpur University

  • Faculty of Engg. & Technology: a) All available courses including Bachelor of Pharmacy and except the five Year degree course in Architecture Pass ‘10+2’ or equivalent Exam with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with at least 60% (45% for Reserve Category Students) marks in all the above three subjects taken together, individual pass marks (both in theory & practical wherever applicable) in each of the subjects and with at least 30 % marks in English
  • Five Year Degree Course in Architecture: Besides the academic qualifications as stated above, applicants must qualify either in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the COA (Council of Architecture) or in the Paper-II of JEE-Main, 2021 conducted by the CBSE Board

West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences:

  • B.Tech (Dairy Technology) Course: Applicant must have passed the Qualifying Exam i.e. the ‘10+2’ Exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular Class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 50% marks (40% in case of applicants belonging to reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English taken together; the Board of the said Qualifying Exam must be recognized by the Central Govt. or State Govt. concerned.

The Neotia University

  • All available B. Tech Courses except Marine Engineering: Pass ‘10+2’ or equivalent Exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, as compulsory subjects with at least 60% marks in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Tech in Marine Engineering: Pass ‘10+2’ or equivalent Exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, as compulsory subjects with at least 60% marks in the above three subjects taken together and at least 50% in English.

Course Specific Eligibility Criteria

  • Course in Marine Engineering: As per the norms and standards of the Director General of Shipping, Government of India
  • Applicants must pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Exam of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent exam from a recognized Council/Board in regular class mode with:
  • 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together with individual pass marks (both in theory and practical wherever applicable) in each of the said subjects;
  • Minimum of 50% marks in English as subject in either in ‘10’ standard or in ‘10+2’ standard
  • These requirements are applicable for the Marine Engineering Course in any of the participating Institutions

Five Year Degree Course in Architecture: As per the norms and standards of the Council of Architecture (COA):

  • No applicant with less than 50% marks in aggregate shall be admitted to the architecture course unless he/she has passed an Exam at the end of new ‘10+2’ scheme of Senior School Certificate Exam or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject of Exam at the 10+2 level.
  • Applicant must also qualify either in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi or in Paper 2 of JEE Mains conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.
  • These requirements are applicable for the five year degree course in Architecture in any of the participating Institutions except the Jadavpur University, for which the academic eligibility criteria.

Reservation of Seats

  • Seats for admission through JEE (Main) 2022 – Reservation of seats for students Merit listed in JEE (Main) 2022 Applicable for applicants merit listed in the JEE-Main-2022 Seats are available for students merit listed in JEE (Main) 2022 up to the extent of 10% of the approved seats in all Self Financed Engineering & Technology Colleges of West Bengal.
  • Allotment of seats shall be strictly on the basis of merit and preference of students through the e-counselling process conducted by the WBJEE.
  • The eligibility and other criteria described in section 3 for admission to degree level Engineering / Technology /Pharmacy/Architecture courses, will be applicable for JEE (Main) 2022 merit listed applicants also.
  • Reservation of Seats for Admission under Mgt. Quota: This is applicable only for Self Financing Colleges of the State offering B.E. /B.Tech./ B.Pharm / B. Arch. Courses. It is also applicable for courses running on self- financing basis under the University Institute of Technology, Burdwan University. However, Institutions may or may not opt for admission of students under such quota.
  • A Maximum of 10% of sanctioned seats may be admitted under such management quota directly by the Concerned Management of those Institutions.

WBJEE 2022 Exam Pattern

  • It is the Common Entrance Exam in offline mode (paper based Exam) for admission to different Degree Level Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

Subjects of Exam

  • There will be 2 papers in WBJEE- Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). The questions will be based on the syllabus in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) pattern with 4 options against each question.
  • Mode of Exam: Offline (OMR Pattern)
  • Total Marks: 200 Marks (100+100)
  • Types of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Total Number of Questions: 155
  • Answering Mode: Darkening the appropriate circle in black/blue ballpoint pen only
  • Paper-I – Mathematics and
  • Paper-II – Physics & Chemistry combined
  • Applicants appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II and who are awarded ranks will be eligible for admission in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy Courses in all institutes
  • Applicants appearing in Paper-II only and who are awarded ranks will be eligible for admission only in Pharmacy Courses (except in Jadavpur University)

  • Applicants can check WBJEE 2022 syllabus from the information brochure. In every subject, all questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type, with four options against each of the questions. There will be three categories of questions in each of the subjects
  • It is the Common Entrance Exam in offline mode (OMR based Exam)

Schedule of WBJEE-2022

  • Paper-I (Mathematics) [11.00 am to 01.00 pm]
  • Paper-II (Physics & Chemistry) [02.00 pm to 04.00 pm]
  • Date of Test: 23rd April 2022
  • No further Exam shall be held under any circumstances for those who will not be able to appear on the above date and time of WBJEE 2022 Exam.

Pattern of Question Papers in WBJEE-2022

  • Questions will be based on the Syllabus for WBJEE-2022 as is given in APPENDIX-7
  • All questions will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ), with four options against each of the questions. There will be three categories of questions in each of the subjects. The number of questions as well as maximum marks for each is given in the following given below:
  • There will be four alternative answers for each question. Applicants will indicate response to the questions by darkening the appropriate circle completely with blue/black ball point pen.

WBJEE 2022 Application Form

How to Apply?

  • West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Application has to be filled up online at the portal of the board, www.wbjeeb.nic.in
  • The applicants need to visit the portal and click the requisite link Online Application WBJEE 2022 and thereafter will be directed to the actual application form; the form is interactive in nature and the fields required to be filled up are categorized in different sub-sections.
  • The application form is broadly categorized into three steps: filling of Personal Details; Document Uploading and Fee Payment
  • Applicants need to fill in the first part i.e. Personal Details and will thereafter be directed to document uploading; once the documents are successfully uploaded, the system enters into the fee payment
  • Finally, the applicant may take a printout of Confirmation Page Generated upon successful Fee Payment for his or her own record; there is no need to send any document by post

Application Fee Details

  • The applicant will be directed to the page of fee payment and will have following two options:

Payment by Debit/Credit Card

  • The applicant has to select Debit/Credit Card option to pay the fee and follow the instruction to complete the payment process; after successful payment, applicant will be able to print the “Confirmation Page”
  • The amount of application fees to be paid for appearing in the WBJEE-2022 is Rs.700/- (Rupees Seven hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges as applicable. The Exam Fees can be paid in cash less mode by ‘Net Banking’/ ‘Debit Card’/ ‘Credit Card’ or in cash using Allahabad Bank e-challan
  • Payment status is updated online and hence should show ‘OK’ immediately after the payment. But in some rare cases it may be delayed due to the Bank’s network delay/failure or transaction failure at the Electronic Payment Gateway (EPG)

Bank e-Challan

  • The applicant has to select “Allahabad Bank e-challan” to submit the application fee through bank. As soon as he selects it an e-Challan will be generated containing details of the applicant
  • The applicant has to take a printout of the same and take it to the nearest Core Banking Service (CBS) facility enabled Branch of the Bank for making payment. After payment, the applicant has to login to the system and upload the details written on the e-Challan by the bank official
  • WBJEE 2022 Application fee can be paid through offline and online methods
  • Applicants can pay WBJEE application fee via Credit/Debit Card or through the challan of Allahabad Bank
  • Detail Information Bulletin and other information will be available in website www.wbjeeb.nic.in

WBJEE 2022 Admit Card

  • Admit cards will be generated on the notified date for the student to download and take a print. Applicant must carry a printed hard copy of the admit card to the Exam centre.
  • Applicants must ensure that the admit card is not mutilated/ distorted/ soiled even by accident. Applicants with such mutilated/ distorted/ soiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in the Exam.
  • In order to get a duplicate, the applicant must apply to the Board and pay a processing fee of Rs. 500/- by a bank draft in the name of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Exams Board” payable in Kolkata.

Evaluation & Declaration of Result

  • The Model Answer Keys will be published in www.wbjeeb.nic.in shortly after the Exam. For this purpose, applicants are advised to regularly follow the web site after the Exam.
  • Any applicant can challenge any model answer key by logging in with his/her password
