NEET PG 2020 Notification, Eligibility, Dates, Application Process

NEET PG 2020 Notification: National Board of Examinations (NBE) is the conducting National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) Courses. PG Medical Entrance Exam is a single-window entrance examination for MD, MS, PG Diploma Courses for 2020 sessions. No other Entrance Examination, either at State or Institution Level, shall be valid for entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 w.e.f. Admission Session 2020. NEET PG exam is conducted once in a year for admission to Doctor of Medicine (MD), Masters of Surgery (MS) and Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma).

NEET PG 2020

  • The National Board of Examination (NBE) is going to start the registration for NEET PG 2020 from 01st to 21st November 2019 onwards. The NBE will conduct the NEET PG Entrance Exam on 05th January 2020. It is A National Level Test, which is held every year by NBE to shortlist applicants for admission in MD, MS & PG Diploma Courses.

NEET PG 2020 Exam Dates

  • Online Submission of Application Form for NEET PG 2020 begins on 01st November 2019 from 06.00 PM onwards
  • Online Applications can be accessed and Completed till 11:55 PM on 01st to 21st November 2019
  • Online Submission of Application Form: 21st November 2019
  • NEET PG 2020 Exam Date: 05th January 2020
  • Declaration of Results by 31st January 2020

For Availability of Seats & Counselling

  • While NEET PG 2020 is being conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE); admissions to 50% seats in Govt. Medical.
  • Colleges will be filled by the Medical Council Committee (MCC) and the remaining 50% seats will be filed by the State Govt. or an Authority appointed by them
  • Besides, in private and deemed Medical Colleges, 50% of the total seats will be filled by the State Govt. or the Authority appointed by them, and the remaining 50% seats will be filled by the Medical College on the basis of NEET PG 2020 merit list
  • Exam Name: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation
  • The following Medical institutions are not covered by centralized admissions for MD/MS seats through NEET-PG for 2020 session:
  • AIIMS, New Delhi and other AIIMS
  • PGIMER, Chandigarh
  • JIPMER, Puducherry
  • NIMHANS, Bengaluru
  • Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum

NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria

For NEET-PG 2020

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen
  • Applicants in possession of MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the MCI or State Medical Council and have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the internship on or before 31st March 2020, may apply for NEET-PG 2020 through online application system at Website

For All India 50% Quota Seats

  • Applicants who have studied/qualified MBBS from the state of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% Quota seats. However, the applicants who were nominated by the Govt. of India (under central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible for All India 50% quota seats.
  • Such applicants must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring that he/she was nominated by the Govt. of India (under central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical College in Jammu & Kashmir

NEET PG 2020 Exam for Foreign Medical Graduates

  • Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical Colleges outside India should have qualified the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (Screening Test) which is conducted by National Board of Exams
  • Further, they should have been registered with MCI/SMC and should have completed their internship or likely to complete their internship on or before 31st March 2020
  • Foreign Medical Graduates are required to bring their FMGE Pass certificate issued by NBE on their testing day

Foreign Nationals in NEET PG 2020

  • It is not mandatory for foreign nationals to have temporary registration with MCI at the time of writing NEET-PG. Foreign Nationals can write NEET-PG without MCI registration
  • The MCI may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post-Graduate course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postgraduate studies
  • The cut-off date for completion of internship towards determination of eligibility for appearing in NEET-PG 2020 shall be 31st March 2020

NEET PG 2020 Exam Pattern

  • NEET PG 2020 will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). The online question paper will be based on the syllabus as prescribed by the exam conducting authority. Exam pattern of NEET PG 2020 would refer to subjects from which questions are asked, number of questions subject wise, marking scheme, duration of exam, mode of exam.
  • Subjects: Under the syllabus given below, you can see subjects from which questions are asked in the exam.
  • Number of Questions: There will be a total of 300 questions. Division of questions from topics is given below
  • Type of Questions: Multiple choice questions (MCQ) with single answer correct
  • Duration of Exam: 3 hours and 30 minutes
  • Mode of Exam: Computer-based test
  • Negative Marking: There shall be a 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions

NEET PG Syllabus 2020

There will be questions from various topics in NEET PG 2020 entrance exam. These topics are primarily divided into the following 15 headings.

  • Anatomy; Physiology; Biochemistry; Pharmacology; Microbiology; Pathology; Forensic Medicine; Social and Preventive Medicine; Medicine, Dermatology and Venereology; Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics and Anaesthesia; Radiodiagnosis and Radiotherapy; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Paediatrics; Ophthalmology; and Psychiatry

NEET PG 2020 Exam Center

  • It will release more testing seats for conduction NEET PG 2020 in the state of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. The testing seat status will be available
  • The applicants who wished to appear for the exam in the Delhi region can now choose from the three testing centers available Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Noida

NEET PG 2020 Application Procedure

  • Rs.2750/- (For SC/ST/PWD (PH) applicants)
  • Rs.3750/- (For General/OBC applicants)

How to Pay for NEET PG Application

  • The Prescribed Exam Fee of Rs.2750/- (for SC/ST/PWD(PH) applicants) & Rs.3750/- (for General/OBC applicants) should be remitted through Payment Gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Internet banking

NEET PG Apply Online

  • Applicants can register for NEET PG through the online portal from 02nd November 2019 to 22nd November 2019. Applicants can choose the exam city through an online registration system on first come first serve basis
  • Applicant applicants are required to read the NEET-PG-2020 Information Bulletin thoroughly. The Information Bulletin will be available at nbe.ac.in

  • Online Submission of Application Form for NEET-PG 2020 for admission to MD/MS/ PG Diploma courses for 2020 academic session is available at NEET-PG Website nbe.edu.in
  • Online submission of application form for NEET-2020 begins on 01st November 2019 to 21st November 2019 from 06:00 PM onwards. The last date for submission of online application form is 21st November 2019 (11:55 PM)
  • The applicant may note that there is no option for submitting the form other than the online mode, offline applications or printed copies will not be accepted
  • Applicants are advised to go through the instructions given before proceeding to fill up the online application
