Applicants can apply for a maximum of 3 programs across any of the 2 campuses indicating the order of preference.
TISSNET Exam Dates 2019
- Announcement of Admissions: 22nd October 2018 (Monday)
- Last Date for Online form Application/Registration for All Master’s Programs: 10th December 2018
- Last Date for Receipt of Application Form by Post: 12th December 2018
- Issue of TISSNET Admit Card (Online): 26th to 27th December 2018
- Pre-admission orientation Program for SC/ST/OBC/Minority and PWD candidates will be held at Mumbai/Tuljapur/Hyderabad and Guwahati Campuses: 23rd December 2018
- TISS National Entrance Test (TISS_NET) (Computer Based) at Different Centres: Saturday, 19th January 2019 (Time: 2.00 pm to 3.40 pm)
Eligibility Criteria for TISSNET 2019
Applicants having a bachelor’s degree with the minimum of 3years duration or its equivalent ( under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university are eligible to apply.
In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programs of the Institute will be provisional.
If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands canceled.
Applicants applying for the Master of Public Health Policy, Economics and Finance, and Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology programs should have a master’s degree in any discipline, or bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four-year programs like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering, etc.
Applicants applying for the Master of Health Administration and Hospital Administration should have successfully completed their graduate degree in any discipline, or bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical, and other four year programs like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering, etc.
Applicants who are in their final year bachelor’s degree program are not eligible to apply for admission to any of the master’s degree programs conducted by School of Health Systems Studies (Health Administration, Hospital Administration; Public Health in Social Epidemiology; and Public Health in Health Policy, Economics and Finance).
Applicants applying for the M.A. / M.Sc in Urban Policy and Governance program should have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences, with interest habitat-related issues/sectors.
For M.A. Disability Studies and Action program, preference will be given to Applicants who have a graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and disability rehabilitation-related fields.
Graduates with at least 2years experience in the field of disability or social welfare will be preferred.
Only Applicants with a master’s degree and work experience will be considered for the one year, full-time master’s degree programs in the management of voluntary organizations and mental health.
Those who do not possess a master’s degree and a minimum 3years experience need not apply.
For M.A. in Applied Psychology with Specializations in Counseling Psychology and Clinical Psychology, preference will be given to those Applicants who have a graduate degree / B.A. in Psychology; B.A. / B.Sc Home Science with specialization in Child / Human Development; B.A. Social Work, B.A. General-with minimum 3papers in Psychology.
LL.M in Access to Justice: LLB Degree with 55percent marks (50percent in case of SC / ST / OBC (NC) / Children of the Employees of Armed Forces / Persons with Disability).
The Applicants appearing in final LLB Examination in April / May 2018 can also apply.
TISSNET Exam Pattern 2019
National Entrance Test (TISS-NET) is computer-based; it will be held on 19th January 2019 from 02.00 pm to 03.40 pm in 35 centres (below mentioned) in different parts of the country.
Northern Region (Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Noida, Varanasi, Greater Noida, Mohali).
Eastern Region (Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Dimapur, Silchar, Patna)
Western Region (Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur, Navi-Mumbai, Thane).
Southern Region (Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Visakhapatnam, Calicut, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode).
The online test is of objective type and even those with a rudimentary knowledge of working with a computer can take the test.
Duration of Test: 01 hour 40 minutes.
In case an Applicant desires to do the test on paper, he/she must this indicate this in the application form The objective test will have questions related to social sensitivity, knowledge on contemporary issues; analytical ability, and logical reasoning.
TISSNET 2019 Selection Procedure
The selection of Applicants for different programs happens in two stages and has three components of assessment; all Applicants appear for the National Entrance Test (TISSNET).
Based on the performance in the TISSNET 2019 examination, only shortlisted Applicants are called for the Pre Interview Test and Personal Interview (PIT/PI).
i) National Common Written Test – 100 Marks; ii) Pre-Interview Test / GD – 50 Marks; iii) Personal Interview – 75 Marks; Total – 225 Marks.
As per Govt. of India norms, Mumbai, Tuljapur and Hyderabad Campuses provide 15percent, 7.5percent and 27percent reservation to SC/ST and OBC (non-creamy layer) for each of the programmes
TISSNET 2019 Registration
Applicants are required to apply online through the e-application only, available on the Institute’s website http://admissions.tiss.edu.
Applicants from remote places where no internet and telecommunication facilities are available can get a printed copy of the application form from the Institute.
Applicants apply through the online application form only. Following are the steps involved in filling up the form.
After login Applicants have to fill in their basic details, academic details and have to mention the programs they wish to apply for in the order of preference.
Pay the application fee (depending on number of programs applied) either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or through Credit card / Debit Card / Net Banking and Scan and upload photograph, signature, mark-sheet of last exam passed and other necessary certificates.
Applicants having lack of access to internet services (remote area) can write to Mumbai campus for printed application form.
They have to the application form and submit before last date of submission.
Applicants can apply for multiple programs and pay for all the programs in one online form and should not fill more than one online form.
If an Applicant is found to have filled more than one form, all his / her applications will be cancelled.
