Tamilnadu State Eligibility Test – TNSET 2018 for Assistant Professor has been announced. Mother Teresa Women’s University is nominated as Nodal Agency for Tamil Nadu to conduct the TNSET-2018.
On behalf of UGC, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal (MTWU), Tamil Nadu announces holding of the State Eligibility Test – TNSET 2018 on March 04th 2018 (Sunday) for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu universities and colleges.
MTWU will conduct TNSET-2018 in 26 subjects at 11 selected Centres of Exam spread across the state.
TNSET 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who have secured at least 55% of marks (without rounding off) for General/OBC (belonging to Creamy Layer) Category and 50% for OBC(belonging to Non – Creamy Layer)/ SC, ST, Persons with Disability (PwD-VI/HI/PH), in Master’s Degree or equivalent exam from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC New Delhi, in subjects like Sciences, Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Sciences, Library & Information Science, are eligible to appear for this examination.
Applicants who have appeared or will be appearing at the Master Degree (final year) exam and whose result is still awaited or applicants whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also appear for this exam. However, such applicants will be admitted provisionally and for those who clear the TNSET 2018 examination will have to qualify within two years from the date of TNSET 2018 Exam, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.
Applicants shall appear for TNSET 2018 Exam in their relevant subject of their Post-Graduation only. In case the Applicant did not find the subject of their Post-Graduation in the list of TNSET 2018 subjects, the Applicant may appear in UGC-NET/CSIR UGC NET which is held twice a year.
Applicants should note that their candidature is provisional. The mere fact that an admission card has been issued to the applicant will not imply that the TNSET 2018 authority has accepted his/her candidature. Applicants may note that candidature will be deemed final, only upon verification of eligibility conditions.
TNSET 2018 Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for applying for TNSET 2018 examination.
TNSET 2018 Scheme of Exam
The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on March 04th 2018 (Sunday) in three separate sessions as under:
Paper I [100 Marks; 50 out of which 50 questions to be attempted; Duration: 1¼ Hrs (09.30 am to 10.45 am)].
Paper II [100 marks; 50 questions all are compulsory; Duration 1¼ Hrs (11.15 am to 12.30 pm)].
Paper III [150 marks; 50 questions all are compulsory; Duration 2½ Hrs (02.00 pm to 04.30 pm)].

English & Tamil Medium: Chemical Sciences, Commerce, Computer Science & Application, Economics, Education, Electronics, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Journalism & Mass Communication, Law, Life Sciences, Management, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Political Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; English Medium: English, Sanskrit, Tamil & Telugu.
TNSET 2018 Exam Centres
The eleven centres where Examination will be conducted in Tamil Nadu State with their respective codes are given below. The applicant can select any one Examination Centre for TNSET 2018 Exam.

TNSET 2018 Exam Fee
Applicants applying for TN State Eligibility Test 2018 need to pay the Exam Fee through Credit/ Debit Card or e-Challan; the payment should be deposited in the State Bank of India (SBI). The fee for various categories is mentioned below:
For General Applicants: Rs.1500/-
For BC/MBC/DNC Applicants: Rs.1250/-
For SC/ST/PWD-VI, HI, PH Applicants: Rs.500/-
The applicants are required to check the status of fee payment at TNSET website (www.tnpsc.gov.in) and if the status is ‘OK’, the applicant will be able to take the printout of Confirmation Page.
After filling all the details for applying online for TNSET-2018, the applicant will have the option to select the mode of payment of examination fee either by credit/debit card or net-banking.

The applicant seeking admission to the Test (TNSET-2018) must apply online only on the website www.tnsetexam2018mtwu.in.
Before applying Online, the applicants must possess the scanned images as below: (i) Passport size photograph in JPG format of minimum 4kb to 40 kb. The dimension of the photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height); (ii) Signature in JPG format of minimum 4kb to 30 Kb; the dimension of the signature should be 3.5 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (height).
After filling all the details for applying, online for TNSET-2018 the applicants have to select the option of payment of examination fee either by credit/debit card or through e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form.
Please note that Fee submitted through any other mode like Money Order, Demand Draft, IPO etc. will be summarily rejected.
TNSET 2018 Hall Ticket
It may be noted that the Hall Ticket will be uploaded on the website www.tnsetexam2018mtwu.in. No Hall Ticket will be sent to the applicants by post.
The applicants should download their Hall Tickets from the above website to ascertain their venue of the Exam. No Applicant will be allowed to appear at the Exam Centre other than that allotted to him/her in the Hall Ticket.
