Doctoral Scholarships 2017 at University of Waikato, New Zealand

University of Waikato, New Zealand is offering Doctoral Scholarships 2017 for students enrolling in a Doctor of Philosophy or a Doctor of Musical Arts, and in part 2 only of a Doctor of Education or a Doctor of Juridical Science programs for 2017 sessions.

Scholarship Details

The value of the scholarship shall be a living allowance of up to $22,000 per annum, payable in monthly installments, and the domestic tuition fees for enrolment in the doctoral program during the term of the scholarship.

The living allowance will be paid on a pro-rata basis for approved part time students.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is open to New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, and international students.

Scholarship applications will only be considered once the applicant has received an offer of place to study for a doctoral qualification at the University of Waikato.

Applicant will normally be seeking to obtain their first doctoral qualification.

Applicant already enrolled in a doctoral degree at the University of Waikato can apply. However, the  Selection  Panel will favour  applications  from  new  doctoral applicants. Should  an  enrolled applicant be successful, the Scholarship tenure may be reduced.

How to Apply?

Applicants must submit an “Application to Enrol” to apply to study a doctoral qualification at the University  of  Waikato  prior  to,  or  at  the  same  time  as,  applying  for  a  Doctoral  Scholarship. Selection Procedure

Academic merit will be a primary criterion of selection, with a minimum grade average of A – (over the previous two years of full-time study) expected for eligibility.

Other factors taken into consideration include; references, prior research and work experience, and publications.

The Selection Panel, chaired by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Post Graduate),will comprise members of the University’s Scholarships Committee.

All applicants will be advised in writing of the outcome of their application.

The Panel’s decision  is  final;  no  correspondence  will  be  entered  into  following  the  selection meeting.
