Maths Talent Search Examination (MTSE) 2016
Indian Institute for Studies in Mathematics (IISMA) is organizing Maths Talent Search Examination (MTSE) 2016 for the students of Classes III to IX in English to test their understanding of mathematical concepts and to prepare them to face competitive exams.
Eligibility for MTSE 2016
MTSE is an open exam. Any student studying in Class III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII or IX under any educational board is eligible to appear for MTSE. A student can appear only for the class in which he/she is studying during the academic year.
MTSE 2016 Reward
The top 5 rank holders of each class are awarded mementoes.
- 1st prize in each class of Rs.2500
- 2nd Prize in each class of Rs.2000
- 3rd Prize in each class of Rs.1500
- 4th Prize in each class of Rs.1250
- 5th Prize in each class of Rs.1000
The top 200 successful students from each class are awarded a Certificate of Merit and Cash prizes worth more than Rs 3.5 lacs.
A Certificate of Participation is awarded to all other students writing the exam.
Nature of Exam
The paper consists of 35 multiple-choice questions.
These questions are to be answered in 60 minutes; the correct answer is awarded with 2 marks, whereas the wrong one carries a penalty of 0.5 marks, except for Class III and IV.
Students scoring above 30 marks or the Benchmark score, whichever is higher, are declared as successful (The Benchmark score is the average score of all the students for that class).

Registration for MTSE 2016 will only be done online; there is no offline registration process for MTSE 2016. The details of the application process are as follow:
Step-1 Registration: The application form is to be filled online and to fill the form applicants are required to use their email id, name and password. A verification code will be sent to the provided email id.
Step-2 Application Form: Once the verification of the email id has been done applicants can log-in to their account and complete the application form by filling details related to the applicant and their academic qualification.
Step-3 Payment: In order to complete the application process applicants are required to make a payment of Rs.250/-; the payment has to be made online and Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking can be used for completing the payment.
Admit Card/Hall Ticket
MTSE 2016 Admit card would be made available 10 days before the MTSE 2016 Exam and it will include the Name of the Exam Centre and the seat number.
Test Centres for MTSE 2016
MTSE 2016 was conducted in 83 town/ cities all over the country and out of that 41 test centres were in Maharashtra, 8 in Kerala, 6 in Karnataka & Uttar Pradesh each, Delhi, Chandigarh and Kolkata were also the test centres.
