PGCIL Diploma Trainee Recruitment 2021 – Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) invites application for the recruitment of Diploma Trainee (Electrical), Diploma Trainee (Electrical) for Ladakh Region, Diploma Trainee (Electrical) for Kashmir Region, Diploma Trainee (Civil) and Diploma Trainee (Civil) for Ladakh Region have been announced by Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd

Eligibility for PGCIL Diploma Trainee Recruitment 2021

Educational Qualification

  • Diploma Trainee (Electrical): Full Time Regular 3 Years Diploma from recognized Technical Board/ Institute with minimum 70% marks for UR/ OBC(NCL)/EWS and pass marks for SC and PwD and Ex-SM candidates Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E/ M.Tech/ M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed
  • Diploma Trainee (Electrical) for Ladakh Region: Full Time Regular 3 Years Diploma from recognized Technical Board/ Institute with minimum 70% marks for UR/ OBC(NCL)/EWS and pass marks for SC and Ex-SM candidates Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E/ M.Tech/ M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed

Age Limit

  • In the official notification, the age limit for the post is maximum 27 years. For age relaxation candidates can refer the official notification
  • PWD candidates will be eligible for age (to the extent of 10 years over and above the age limit allowed in the appropriate category), qualifications, and written tests in positions where vacancies are reserved for PWD candidates, provided that their proportion of disability is not less than 40%.

PGCIL Diploma Trainee Selection Procedure

  • The Selection Process for respective posts consists of Written Test/ Computer Based Test only.
  • Written Test/ Computer Based Test shall be of Objective Type of two hours duration consisting of two parts:
  • Part-I consists of Professional Knowledge Test with 120 questions having specific questions of respective discipline.
  • Part-II consists of Supervisory Aptitude Test with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, ability to determine data sufficiency, interpretation of graphs/charts/tables, numerical ability etc.
  • All questions carry equal marks. Wrong and multiple answers would result in negative marks of 1/4.
  • To qualify against unreserved vacancies, candidates have to score at least 40% marks in Written Test with at least 30% marks in Part I and II separately. For reserved vacancies, wherever applicable, the qualifying criteria in Written Test is 30% marks with at least 25% marks scored in Part I and II separately.
  • Only those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying percentage of 40% (for unreserved) /30% (for reserved) will get empanelled as per the criteria of empanelment.
  • The Offer of Appointment shall be issued to the suitable candidates in the order of merit and based on the requirement.
  • Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in the Pre-Employment Medical
  • Examination to be conducted as per POWERGRID Norms and Standards of Medical Fitness

Test Centers

  • The Computer Based Test is expected to be conducted at Chandigarh/ Jammu/Srinagar/ Leh. The candidates can choose the test centre based on their address for communication or present address.
  • No change of test centre will be allowed subsequently.
  • However, depending upon the number of candidates applying for particular centre, climatic conditions, Covid lockdown etc. the management reserves the right to change the test centre.

How to Apply?

  • Interested and eligible candidates may apply online by logging on to https://www.powergrid.in-> Career section-> Job opportunities -> Openings-> Regional Openings-> Northern Region-II, Jammu Recruitment
  • While applying on the website, the candidate should possess a Valid E-mail ID, Alternate E-mail ID and Mobile number
  • Candidates are advised to upload the following documents while submitting online application:-
  • Scanned copy of recent passport size color photograph max. (50kb) in .JPG format
  • Scanned signature of candidate max (30kb) in .JPG format
  • Date of Birth Proof, i.e. Matric/ Birth Certificate (in pdf format)
  • Qualification Certificate (Diploma) along with Mark Sheets of all years/semesters along with proof of norms adopted by the University/ Institute to convert CGPA/OGPA/DGPA into percentage (if applicable) (in pdf format)
  • Candidates working in Govt./ PSU are required to apply through proper channel and need to upload “No Objection Certificate” from the present employer in pdf format.
  • Caste Certificate in the prescribed GOI format issued by Competent Authority (if applicable) in pdf format
  • Disability Certificate in the prescribed GOI format issued by Competent Authority (if applicable) in pdf format
  • Ex-Serviceman Discharge Certificate (if applicable ) in pdf format
  • Domicile cum Age relaxation certificates for Candidates from J&K State/ Riots Victim in the prescribed GOI format issued by Competent Authority (if applicable in pdf format
  • Employment Exchange Registration Certificate/ receipt (if applicable) in pdf format
  • Applicants are advised to take a print out of the submitted online application and note down the user ID and password generated at the time of online registration. On further announcement of dates for the written test, the eligible candidates shall download Admit cards from the above website for appearing in the test
  • In case the candidate qualifies the written test, they shall furnish the downloaded application at the time of document verification/joining along with the documents as mentioned above in original as well as one set of self attested photocopies of documents in support of their identity, age, qualification, caste, disability etc.

Application Fee

  • Application fee of Rs 300/- (Non-Refundable)
  • SC/ST/PwD/Ex-SM/DEx-SM/ Departmental candidates are not required to pay the Application Fee.
