NITTTR Quality Improvement Programme – Polytechnic Scheme 2018
NITTTR Chandigarh Quality Improvement Programme 2018: Principal Coordinator, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research, Chandigarh, on behalf of AICTE, New Delhi has invited applications in the prescribed format under Quality Improvement Programme (Poly) Scheme from full-time regular/permanent faculty members of AICTE approved Polytechnics for admission to Master’s Programme (2years) and PhD Programme (3years) for 2018 sessions.

Number of Seats: Under QIP (Poly) Scheme, AICTE has made the provision of a total of 100 seats for M.Tech/ME and 60 seats for PhD Programmes (or as per AICTE approval).
Eligibility Criteria for Quality Improvement Programme
Only permanent faculty members of AICTE recognized polytechnic can apply.
Master’s Programme: Minimum teaching experience of 3 years as on 25th April 2018; bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum qualification) in the appropriate branch and other eligibility criteria prescribed by the individual institution
Doctoral Programme: Minimum teaching experience of 5 years as on 25th April 2018. Master’s Degree or equivalent (minimum qualification) in the appropriate branch and other eligibility criteria (or) An applicant selected for admission under QIP will have to execute an undertaking to serve his/her parent institution for a minimum period of two years (for M.Tech./ME) and three years (for PhD) after the completion of the program.
Computer Programmers, System Programmers, Workshop Staff, Guest Lecturer, Visiting Lecturer, Teaching Assistants, Ad-hoc Appointees, Technical Assistants and other such categories of staff are not eligible.
The merit of the applicants will be prepared on the following criteria:
50% weightage to be given to the marks obtained in the qualifying exam
20% weightage to be given to the teaching/industrial/research experience gained after engineering graduation. Two marks per year of experience can be awarded with a maximum of 20 marks
10% weightage to be given for attending the short-term courses sanctioned by QIP / ISTE / AICTE / IMPACT or any other such courses or workshops conducted by QIP Centre of not less than one week. For one-week course 3% marks, for two weeks 6% and for three or more weeks 10% marks will be awarded.
5% weighatge must be given for publication of research paper in journals.
5% weightage must be given for significant contribution in Community Development Programme.
For M.Tech/ME Degree Programme: Scholarship of Rs.9000/- per month for two years and a contingency grant of Rs.5000/- per annum for maximum period of two year.
For PhD Degree Programme: Scholarship of Rs.15000/- per month for three years and a contingency grant of Rs.15000/- per annum for maximum period of three years.

The additional application forms required may be obtained by photocopying.
The Applicants are required to submit THREE COPIES of application forms duly filled in through proper channel along with relevant documents/certificates and a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh payable at Chandigarh to Dr. PK Tulsi, Principal Coordinator-QIP (Poly) and Director, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research, Sector-26, Chandigarh-160 019 latest by April 25th 2018.
The filled up application forms should be sent preferably by SPEED POST or COURIER service.
