NEIAH Shillong BAMS and BHMS Admission 2018

NEIAH Shillong Admission 2018 – North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH) is an Autonomous Institute, under the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India located at Mawdiangdiang, Shillong (Meghalaya) has invited application for admission to BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) & BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery) Degree Courses for 2018-19 sessions.

About the NEIAH

The Institute is functioning with College of Ayurveda and College of Homoeopathy, offering UG Courses BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery).

The Institute is going to admit 50 applicants each for BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery) Courses for the academic session 2018-19, applicants who have qualified in NEET 2018, conducted on All India basis by CBSE and are desirous of taking admission in NEIAH.

Courses & Distribution of Seats

Institute conducts the 5½ years Degree Course in Ayurveda and Homoeopathy viz., Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) & Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S.) respectively.

The Courses are full-time Regular Courses as per the regulation of respective Councils, approved by Govt. of India and Govt. of Meghalaya.

Both the Courses are affiliated to “The North Eastern Hill University (NEHU)”, Shillong.

BAMS

Arunachal Pradesh (03 Seats), Manipur (03 Seats), Meghalaya (07 Seats), Mizoram (03 Seats), Nagaland (03 Seats), Sikkim (03 Seats), Tripura (03 Seats), Foreign Nationals (01 Seat), All India Open Seat (24 Seats).

Total – 50 Seats

BHMS

Arunachal Pradesh (03 Seats), Manipur (03 Seats), Meghalaya (07 Seats), Mizoram (03 Seats), Nagaland (03 Seats), Sikkim (03 Seats), Tripura (03 Seats), Foreign Nationals (01 Seat), All India Open Seat (24 Seats).

Total – 50 Seats

*24 (twenty-four) seats under the All India Open Seats will be filled up based on NEET 2018 Merit. For the seats under Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, State-wise merit of the applicants would also be drawn on the basis of NEET 2018 and admission granted as per the quota of the respective State Governments.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Applicant must be a citizen of India (Except foreign nationals forwarded to the institute by ICCR); the applicant should have studied and completed their course in the schools located in India in the preceding two years (Not applicable for foreign students).

Age Limit

He/she has completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year BAMS/BHMS course and maximum age limit will be 25 years as on 31st December of the year of his/her admission.

SC/ST applicants will get relaxation of age as per GOI Rules

Educational Qualification

The applicant should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below:

Applicant must have passed 10+2 with the subject comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology).

The applicant must have passed in the Subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% for General applicants and 45% for ST/SC category applicants.

For foreign nationals, ICCR will be requested to forward the applications to NEIAH for admission under the AYUSH Scholarship Scheme.

NEIAH will examine the applications in terms of admission into the course.

Selection Procedure

A combined merit list of all the applicants will be drawn on the basis of their performance in the NEET 2018.

Inter-se merit: In the case of two or more applicants securing equal marks in the Entrance Exam their inter-se merit shall be determined from the marks of the Entrance Exam as follows:

Eliminating first Physics marks.

If there is still a tie, by eliminating Chemistry marks.

If there is still a tie, by eliminating Botany marks.

If the tie is still not broken, then a applicant senior in age to a applicant who is junior in age.

Selected applicants will have to attend counseling and medical exam at the Institute at their own cost on the notified date. At the time of counseling, applicants will have to attend in person and will have to produce the original Mark sheets of the qualifying exam and other original documents such as proof of age, Caste Certificate, Character Certificate, etc.

Medical Exam

The selected applicants shall have to undergo the medical exam by a Medical Board set up by the Institute, consisting of faculty members of the Institute.

If, in the assessment of Medical Board, the applicant is found medically unfit to be admitted to the course, he/she will be rejected and will not be admitted and the decision of the Board shall be final in this regard.

In that case, in his/her place, the next student in the order of merit will be admitted.

Application Process

Duly filled in applications in prescribed format enclosing self-attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets, NEET 2018 Admit Card with mark sheet, testimonials in support of age, PRC, educational qualification certificate, caste/community/Persons with disabilities (PWD) certificate issued by Competent authority of Central/State Govt., two copies of recent passport size photographs along with application fee (Demand Draft) should reach the office of “THE DIRECTOR, NORTH EASTERN INSTITUTE OF AYURVEDA & HOMOEOPATHY (NEIAH), MAWDIANGDIANG, SHILLONG, MEGHALAYA 793018’’ on or before July 31st 2018.

The envelope containing application form should be super scribed as “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO BAMS/ BHMS COURSE “and sent by Speed-Post/by Hand.

Application Fee

An application fee of the amount mentioned as under should be remitted by the applicants to the Institute in the form of DEMAND DRAFT in favour of Director, North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy, payable at Shillong.

  • General / OBC – Fee Rs.1000/-
  • ST/ SC/ PWD – Fee Rs.500/-

Note:

Application received after the closing date will not be considered. The Institute shall not be responsible for any postal delay/ lapse on the part of courier agency or any other reasons whatsoever.

The decision of the Director, NEIAH will be final in this regard.
