DNB PDCET 2018 | Post Diploma Centralized Entrance Test 2018

DNB PDCET 2018 is the eligibility-cum-ranking examination for entry to various Post Diploma DNB courses for 2018 sessions. NBE shall be conducting DNB PDCET as a Computer Based Test (CBT) on June 29th 2018 at test centers across the country.

Post Diploma DNB courses are offered in the following specialties: Anaesthesiology, Dermatology, Veneraology and Leprosy, Nuclear Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Radio-Diagnosis, Radiotherapy, Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases/Pulmonary Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Pathology, Immuno Haematology and Blood Transfusion and Emergency Medicine.

DNB PDCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who have passed the final examination leading to the award of Post Graduate Diploma from Indian Universities which are duly recognized as per provisions of Indian Medical Council Act 1956, Govt. of India i.e. have passed/passing the final examinations for the postgraduate diploma on or before June 30th, 2018 may apply for DNB-Post Diploma CET in same broad specialty through online application system at

Applicant should have completed his/her 2 years of post-diploma training by June 30th 2018.

Submission of proof of having passed/Passing the Postgraduate diploma final exam on or before the June 30th 2018 is an essential prerequisite.

In case the Applicant does not submit requisite proof of passing his/her postgraduate diploma final examination, the Applicant shall not be allowed to appear in July 2018 admission session.

Applicant found to be ineligible at any stage of DNB-PDCET will not be permitted to appear in the exam. In an unlikely event of any ineligible Applicant appearing and/or being successful in the DNB-PDCET, the result/candidature of such Applicant shall be cancelled.

The applicant who are qualifying their PG Diploma exit exams and getting their results after 30th June 2018  or likely to qualify after June 30th 2018 need not apply in the DNB-PDCET exam as they shall be ineligible to appear in the DNB-PDCET.

Application form for PDCET 2018 admission session can be submitted only online at from May 11th to May 31st, 2018 till 23:59 Hrs.

Application forms CANNOT be submitted in offline /printed copy by post.

Completing Post Diploma Qualification means Applicant should have completed the requisite two years training and his /her result of the final examination of the requisite Post Diploma qualification should have been declared by the cutoff date i.e. June 30th 2018.

Applicants who are not completing the training by the cutoff date or their final result has not been declared by the cutoff date or they have not qualified in the requisite exam need not apply.

The prescribed fee shall be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Net Banking.

DNB PDCET Exam Pattern 2018 | Scheme of Exam

DNB PDCET is an entrance exam and is an essential prerequisite for entry to post diploma DNB 2 years postgraduate courses. The next session of entrance exam shall be held on June 2018 and conducted as computer-based exam only

Appearance in the Post Diploma CET is an essential pre-requisite for entry to the DNB Broad Specialties (Secondary Seats) July 2018 admission session

All the Applicants who appear in the above exam will be given a merit position (rank) in descending order of the marks obtained by them. The merit list shall be published specialty wise (merit list for DGO, DMRD, DMRT, DORTHO, DOMS, DLO, DA, DVD, DPM, DCH, DNM, DTCD, DPMR

The exam comprises 300 multiple choice, single correct response questions of 1 mark each in English language only as per the following indicative scheme:

  • Human Biology (Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry) – 50 No. of questions.
  • Applied Pathology, Microbiology and Pharmacology – 50 No. of questions.
  • Medicine and Allied Sciences – 50 No. of questions.
  • Surgery and Allied Sciences – 50 No. of questions.
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology – 50 No. of questions.
  • Community Medicine including Basic Statistics & – 50 No. of questions.

Applicants successful in DNB-PDCET shall participate in Centralized merit based counseling conducted by National Board of Exams for allotment of DNB seats at NBE accredited Institutions/hospitals/medical colleges in order of their specialty specific merit and Applicant shall be able to opt for the NBE accredited institution/hospital/medical college of their choice as per availability at their merit.

There shall be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
