M.Sc Admission in Chemistry and Physics Programs 2016
National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal has been invited applications for admission to Full-Time Master of Science (M.Sc) Programs for 2016 sessions.
- M.Sc (CY) – M.Sc in Chemistry
- M.Sc (PH) – M.Sc in Physics
Eligibility for NIT M.Sc Admission 2016
Admission to M.Sc Program in Chemistry/ Physics shall be open to Indian nationals who have passed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry /Physics with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system, or not less than 60 percent marks in the aggregate (taking into account the marks scored in all the subjects of all the Public/University Exams conducted during the entire prescribed period for the degree program).
However, this prescribed minimum shall be a CGPA of 6.0 or 55 percent marks in the aggregate for SC/ST/PwD applicants.
Applicant appearing for the qualifying exam in the academic year 2015-16 and expecting their final results latest by 15th September 2016 may also apply.
Selection Procedure for MSc Programs
Selection of Applicants for admission to M.Sc Chemistry & Physics) will be based upon the academic performance in the qualifying degree programme, written aptitude test conducted by the respective departments.

How to Apply – NIT Surathkal MSc Admission 2016..?
The prescribed application forms and Information Bulletin for M.Sc (Chemistry & Physics) programmes can be downloaded from the Institute website www.nitk.ac.in.
The application form can be duly filled and sent to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, Mangalore-575025, Karnataka State on or before the last date prescribed May 27th, 2016 along with the demand draft (DD) of Rs.500/- (for SC/ST- Rs.150/-), drawn in favor of the Director, N.I.T.K., Surathkal payable at Mangalore.
Applicants sponsored must get their applications forwarded through proper channel.
Applications which are incomplete/defective/received late are liable to be rejected summarily and no correspondence will be entertained on such applications.
Applicants called for interview will have to appear for interview at their own cost; the interview will be held at NITK, Surathkal.
Applicant can download the prescribed format for OBC Certificate from the NITK website (i.e. www.nitk.ac.in)
