WBJEEB Kolkata MCA Course 2017 through JECA
West Bengal JECA 2017, the Joint Entrance Examination for admission to Master of Computer Application (MCA) course in West Bengal for 2017 sessions in various institutions in West Bengal.
Nationality: The applicant must be a citizen of India.
Domicile: For admission in to University, University departments and government colleges, the applicant must be domicile of West Bengal.
Age: There is no age restriction.
Only those applicants will be treated as domicile of West Bengal who are either, a) Residing in West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 years as on 31st December 2017 (or); ((b) Whose parents is/are permanent residents of West Bengal having permanent address within the State of West Bengal.
Academic Eligibility Criteria
Various institutions that offers the three years MCA Course in the State of West Bengal follows one of the four following modules of eligibility criteria.
Module-I: Applicant must have passed 3-years Bachelor degree program from UGC recognized University with at least 60% in Honours /Aggregate (45% for SC/ST applicants) in Mathematics at the Bachelor’s level.
Module-II: UGC and/or AICTE recognized (as the case may be) Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3-years duration except BBA with Mathematics at 10+2 level or graduate level.
Module-III: Applicant must have Graduate or equivalent degree under (10+2+3) pattern in any discipline of a UGC recognized University/Institute or AICTE recognized B.E/B.Tech./BCA of a University/Institute.
Module-IV: Applicant should have B.Sc Honour degree under (10+2+3) patter in any discipline of UGC recognized University/Institute with at least 60% marks in Honors/Aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B applicants) along with at least 55% marks in Mathematics.
Admit Card for each eligible applicant will be available to download as per the schedule; applicant should download the Admit Card any carry it along with him/her to the entrance centre.
Zone of Exam
The examination will be held simultaneously at the zones Kolkata-North, Kolkata-South, Howrah, Haldla, Burdwan, Durgapur and Murshidabad, provided there are sufficient applicants in each Zone.
The test will be Online and consist of two papers namely,
a) Mathematics (100 Marks), two hours and
b) Aptitude test (100 marks), one hour
All questions will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. Each question will have four answer options of which only one is correct.
Correct response will fetch full marks allotted to the question. No response will fetch zero mark. One fourth (1/4) of the full mark will be deducted for incorrect. The questions will be English only.
In respect of reservation of seats, application acts/rules of the Govt. of West Bengal prevailing at the time of admission will be followed. List of such reserved seats will be available in this portal before counseling.
How to Apply?
Application has to be filled up online at the portal www.wbjeeb.in.
Applicant needs to visit the portal and follow the links “EXAMINATION => JECA => ONLINE APPLICATION”. The form is interactive in nature. There are four steps in application form submission as follows:
Step-1 Registration: Applicant has to input name, date of birth, gender, e-mail id and mobile number and password. Applicant must take utmost care to give these inputs. If mistakes are committed there is no chance of correction. The given mobile number and e-mail id will be used for all further communication.
At the end of this step the applicant may opt to logout or continue to next step. For further log in, applicant has to use his/her application number, date of birth and password.
Step-2 Application Form: In this step the applicant has to enter his/her personal and academic information and also two choices of examination centre. The fields mark with (*) are mandatory fields, i.e. mandatory to be filled in.
Step-3 Image Upload: At this step the applicant has to upload scanned copies of his/her photograph, signature, LTI and Admit Card/Mark sheet of 10th standard as age proof.
Step-4 Payment and Confirmation: The applicant will be directed to the page of fee payment and will have following two options:
a) Payment by Debit/Credit Card: Applicant has to select Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking option to pay the fee of Rs.600/- + service charges and follow the instruction to complete the payment process. After successful payment, applicant will be able to print the “Confirmation Page”.
b) Payment by Allahabad Bank Challan: Applicant has to select ‘Offline payment mode’ to deposit the fee. As soon as he/she selects the option, ‘e-challan’ will be generated containing specific details of the applicant along with amount Rs.600 + bank’s service charges to be paid.
The applicant has to take a printout of the same and logout. He/she has to take it to any branch of Allahabad Bank for making payment.
