NIT MCA Common Entrance Test 2017

NIMCET 2017 is a National Level Entrance Test for admission into Master of Computer Applications Programme (MCA) offered by 11 participating National Institutes of Technology (NITs) at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal, for the year 2017-18.

NIMCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Indian Nationals securing$ at least 60 percent marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale# (55 percent marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC, ST) in B.Sc /B.Sc (Hons)/ BCA /BIT of minimum three years full-time. OR

B.E/B.Tech or equivalent from a recognized University is eligible to appear for NIMCET-2017 test.

Applicants who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET 2017 and such Applicants shall have to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the Head of institution where the Applicant has studied) of candidature for appearing the examinations during the academic year 2017-18.

All Applicants shall submit the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2017 at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 15th Sept. 2017, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs.

Students who have completed/completing degree B.Sc/B.Sc (Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

Conversion from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is not permitted; (OR)

The percentages of marks in qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects studied in all the years including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any.

The aggregate of marks secured in all the subjects in all the years computed using this method of calculation alone be considered by NIMCET-2017 for deciding eligibility.

Admission Procedure

The applicants who appeared and obtained marks in NIMCET 2017 will be allotted ranks

The applicants who obtained rank in NIMCET-2017 only shall be eligible for admission into MCA programme at the participating institutes.

Publication of Advertisement in Press and Web: February 17th 2017

Opening Date for Online Registration & Filling of Online Application Form: February 20th 2017

Last Date for Receipt of Printout of electronically filled application Form along with self-attested copy of Marks sheet of Class-12 & Graduation Certificate with Payment Receipt by speed post/Registered post: March 31st 2017 (03.00 PM)

Availability of Admit card on NIT, Durgapur Website: May 16th 2017 onwards

Date of NIMCET MCA Exam: May 28th 2017 (Sunday, 10.00 AM to 12.00 Noon)

Date of Publication of Result (Tentative): June 06th 2017

Opening Date of Online Choice Filling: June 09th 2017 (10.00 AM onwards)

Closing Date of Online Choice filling: June 14th 2017

First Round Seat Allotment: June 17th 2017

First Round of Remote reporting in Person in any of the counseling Centre i.e. Participating NITs offering MCA Program: June 23rd to June 24th 2017 (10.00 AM to 05.00 PM)

Second Round of Allotment/up Gradation: June 30th 2017

Second Round of Remote Reporting in Person: 06th & 07th July 2017 (10.00 AM to 05 PM)

Third Round of Allotment/up gradation: July 11th 2017

Third Round of Reporting in Person at the Allotted Institute: 17th to 18th July 2017 (10.00 AM to 05.00 PM)

Surrendering the allotted seats in person through participating Counseling Centre: 18th to 19th July 2017 (10.00 AM to 05.00 PM)

Announcement of Vacant Seats: July 22nd 2017

Fresh Choice Filling in person against vacant seat, if any, through any of the Counseling Centre: 23rd to 24th July 2017 (10.00 AM to 05.00 PM)

Final Round of Allotment of Vacant Seat, if any: July 26th 2017

Final Round of Reporting in Person at the Allotted Institute: On or before July 31st 2017
