Directorate of Technical Education has invited applications for various Diploma Courses for 2017-18 sessions, which has been approved by the Government of Kerala.
Polytechnic College Admission 2017-18
There will be two streams of diploma programs.
Stream1: Diploma in Engineering/Technology.
Stream2: Diploma in Commercial Practice/Diploma in Computer Application and Business Management.
Duration of the Diploma Programs: All the Diploma Programmes are of 6-semester duration spanning a period of 3 years. In addition to this, for Tool & Die Diploma Programme compulsory twelve months in-plant training is also part of the program.
All the Polytechnic Colleges follow credit based semester pattern and outcome-based curriculum.
Kerela Polytechnic Admission 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must be a citizen of India.
The applicant must be a native of Kerala or undergone a qualifying exam from an institution in Kerala State or his/her parent should be a permanent employee in Central/State/Quasi Govt. /Public Sector undertaking in Kerala State.
Applicant should have passed SSLC/THSLC or equivalent examination, with eligibility for higher studies.
Kerala Polytechnic 2017 Selection Procedure
Selection of the applicant is based on the grading in SSLC/THSLC or equivalent Examination. For the students who have passed qualifying examination under the old scheme (prior to Grading System), marks are to be converted to 9 point absolute grade.
For those who have passed the qualifying exam under the old scheme (prior to Grading System), and with marks for individual papers with less than 30%, and have the eligibility for higher studies, will be considered to have passed the paper in D+ grade for calculating the score in 9 point absolute scale.
Index score for Stream 1 = TGPA for stream I – Penal Point + Bonus Point.
Index score for Stream 2 = TGPA for stream II – Penal Point + Bonus Point.
Centralised Allotment Process (CAP).
Centralised Allotment Process will be done through the Single Window System (SWS) of allotment to give allotment to various programmes and Polytechnic Colleges, based on the options/re-options exercised by the applicants.
Applicants can exercise options to a maximum number of 25 of his/her choice (programme and institution combination) e.g.: Chemical Engg. in Govt. Polytechnic College. Kalamassery can be one option and Mechanical Engg in Cherthala Govt. Polytechnic can be another option.
Such type of a maximum of 25 options can be given in an application form. Allotments will be strictly based on the options exercised, Rank obtained and eligible reservations for the applicant.
Kerala Polytechnic 2017 Fees Details
Fees for the various programmes in Government/ Aided Colleges will be as follows.
Admission Fee (At the time of Admission) – Rs.200/-.
Tuition Fee – Rs.750/- per semester.
Special Fee (Revenue Portion) – Rs.700/- Year (Remit in the beginning of odd semester).
Special Fee (PD Portion) – Rs.600/ Year (Remit in the beginning of odd semester).
Student Amenities Fee – Rs.350 / Year (Remit in the beginning of odd semester).
Caution Deposit – Rs 500/- (Remit at the time of Admission).
Tuition Fee for the Govt. Seats in Self-financed Programmes is Rs.22500/- per year.
Fees once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Kerela Polytechnic Application Form 2017
The Prospectus can be downloaded from the website www.polyadmission.org in English and Malayalam Languages. The Prospectus will also be available from any Govt. /Aided/self-financing Polytechnic colleges in the state of Kerala on payment of Rs.20/-.
Application Fee shall be Rs.150/-. For SC/ST applicants, it shall be Rs.75/-.
It should be remitted at the Polytechnic College at the time of submission of the printout of application processed online, along with relevant documents.
For the benefit of applicants who do not have access to Internet facility, Help Desks will be established in all the Polytechnic Colleges. Applicants can make use of this facility free of cost.

Second chance interview and admission at Polytechnic Colleges 20th & 21st November 2017
Spot admission: 27th & 28th November 2017
I Semester classes commence on December 01st 2017
Admission closes on December 05th 2017
