The Joint Entrance Examination Advanced 2018 will be conducted by the seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2018. The performance of an applicant in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in the sixteen IITs and the Indian School of Mines (ISM). The decisions of the JAB 2018 will be final in all matters related to JEE Advanced 2018 and admission to IITs and ISM.
JEE Advanced Eligibility 2018
The applicant, including a foreign national, must fulfil each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in JEE Advanced 2018.
Performance in JEE Main 2018: The applicant must be among the top 1,50,000 (all categories included) in JEE Main 2018. The percentages of the total number of applicants for various categories are as follows:
50.5 percent for GEN (from the common merit list), 27 percent for OBCNCL, 15 percent for SC and 7.5 percent for ST. Within each of these four categories, 3 percent horizontal reservation is available for PwD applicants.
Age limit: The applicant should have been born on or after October 1, 1993 if belonging to the GEN or OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1988, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
The number of attempts: Applicant can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. Therefore, JEE (Advanced) 2018 should be either the applicant’s FIRST attempt OR the SECOND consecutive attempt.
Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: The applicant should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in all the subjects in either 2017 or 2018.
Earlier admission at IITs/ISM: The applicant should not have taken admission (irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program) OR even accepted admission by paying the admission fee at any of the IITs or ISM in the past; even applicants whose admission was cancelled are NOT eligible. However, applicants who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2017 can appear for JEE (Advanced) 2018.

Applicants must register for appearing in JEE Advanced 2018.
Registration is through the online portal (http://jeeadv.iitb.ac.in) only.
The applicant must satisfy each and every one of the five eligibility criteria.
Registration will be cancelled if, at a later date, it is found that the applicant does not meet even one of these five eligibility criteria.
Even if the applicant did not opt for appearing in JEE Advanced 2018 while registering for JEE Main 2018, he/she can register for JEE Advanced 2018.
Application for JEE Advanced 2018 CANNOT be withdrawn after registration is completed.
Registration fee is NEITHER refundable NOR transferable.
