Tamil Nadu TNEA 2017 BArch Degree Course

TNEA 2017 applications has invited for admission to 5 years B.Arch. Degree Program offered at University Department of Anna University, Government Aided Institutions and the seats surrendered by the Self-Financing Engineering Colleges for 2017 sessions.

Tamilnadu Engineering Admission 2017 BArch Program Eligibility Criteria

Applicants satisfying the following eligibility rules as on the last date of submission of application are eligible to apply. Passing the qualifying examination after the last date of submission shall not be considered.

(i) Nativity

Applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. However, the following categories of applicants are also eligible to apply as Tamil Nadu applicant subject to the conditions given below:

i) Tamil Nadu applicants who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.

They need not enclose the Nativity Certificate.

ii) Children of Central Govt. employees may also apply for admission, irrespective of their native, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in TN continuously for the past five years at the time of submission of application.

This should be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect.

iii) Sons and daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply.

iv) Children of employees in Public Sector or Govt. recognised Institutions who at the time of submission of application for admission employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years may also apply irrespective of their domicile.

v) Other State applicants who have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply

They need not enclose “Nativity Certificate”.

vi) Tamil Nadu native applicants who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. or their equivalent exam from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply.

They should enclose a copy of Nativity Certificate.

(ii) Foreign Nationals are not eligible.

Qualifying Examinations

(a) HSC (Academic)/Equivalent: The applicants who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent exam with Mathematics / Business Mathematics as one of the subjects.

  1. Applicants other than BC/BCM/MBC & DNC/SC/SCA/ST should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate.
  2. BC/BCM/MBC & DNC/SC/SCA/ST applicants should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate.

(b) Diploma

The applicant who have passed 10+3 years Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central / State Governments.

  1. Applicants other than BC/BCM/MBC & DNC/SC/SCA / ST should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together.
  2. BC/BCM/MBC & DNC/SC/SCA/ST applicants should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together.

(c) International Baccalaureate Diploma

The applicants who have passed International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of schooling, with Mathematics as compulsory subject.

  1. Applicants other than BC/ BCM/MBC & DNC/SC/SCA/ST should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together.
  2. BC/BCM, MBC & DNC, SC/SCA & ST applicants should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together.

Tamilnadu Engineering Admission 2017 BArch Program Selection Mode

a) Admission to General Category: The ranking of applicants for the seats will be on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying exam and also in the NATA 2017 conducted by Council of Architecture. The applicants should have passed NATA and should submit the mark sheet along with the application.

Those who have not appeared and passed in the NATA 2017 are not eligible for admission to B.Arch. Degree Course.

HSC Academic/Diploma/Equivalent: The maximum marks for the Aptitude Test for both academic and diploma applicants will be 200; the total academic marks for H.Sc applicants will be reduced to a base of 200. Ranking of the applicants will be based on the total marks of 400 (NATA 200 and Academic mark 200).

b) Admission to Special Reservation Category: Applicants who are applying for special reservation categories of seats under should satisfy the rules stipulated for admission.

Selection for item 20 will be based on their ranking on the total marks (out of 400) obtained in the qualifying Examination. Selection for item 21 will be based on the total marks obtained for Achievements in sports as per Annexure II.

Upload a good quality recently taken passport size photograph in the space provided.

The candidates registered for B.Arch. and who desires to apply for special reservation category Eminent Sports Persons shall submit copies of the sports certificates and relevant forms duly mentioning the TNEA application number, in person at the office of the Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai 25 on or before the last date for registration of application prescribed.

Make the payment of application / registration fees (only online payment) Rs.500/- for General category and Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu and Rs.100/- for every special reservation in addition to the application/registration fees.
