Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test Pattern 2017

All admissions to the various UG and PG Programs of the IMU and its Affiliated Institutes will be through All-India Common Entrance Tests (CETs) conducted every year, usually in the month of April.

There will be a CET common to all UG Programs

There will be a CET common to the 2 MBA Programs, another CET common to the 2 M.Tech Programs and yet another CET for the program.

Applicant needs to be aware about the fact that, all the questions asked in this exam are as per what taught to the students in their 12th class. Multiple-choice questions are asked in this exam.

Total number of questions – 180; time duration – 180 minutes or 3 hours

For UG Program question paper will comprise of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude questions at Plus 2 level (CBSE, ISE and State Boards).

For the MBAs questions will be asked from English, General Knowledge, Aptitude, Financial Accounting, Economics, Maritime Affairs, and Mathematics at UG level.

For the M.Tech questions will be asked from English, General Knowledge, Aptitude, Mathematics and Engineering.

For LLM (Maritime Laws) questions will be asked from English, General Knowledge, Aptitude and General Laws.

The exam will be Computer-based or online and questions will be of multiple-choice type.

Applicants who are shortlisted based on CET scores will be called for Counselling at designated IMU Campuses and will involve verification of original mark sheets and certificates, physical fitness clearance, and allotment of seats in the IMU Campuses or Affiliated Institutes.

IMU CET 2017 Exam Centres

The Computer-based CETs for IMU’s UG and PG Programs are scheduled to be held between 02.00 pm and 05.00 pm in a single shift. They will be held simultaneously in the following 34 cities across India: Agra, Hyderabad, Patna, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Pune, Allahabad, Jodhpur, Raipur, Bangalore, Kanpur, Ranchi, Bhopal, Kolkata, Shimla, Bhubaneswar, Kota, Siliguri, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Srinagar, Chennai, Meerut, Trivandrum, Cochin, Mumbai, Varanasi, Coimbatore, Muzaffurpur, Visakhapatnam, Dehradun, Nagpur, Guwahati & New Delhi.

IMU CET 2017 Syllabus

The Syllabus for CET for UG programs will be Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude at Plus 2 level (CBSE, ISE and State Boards).
