Eligibility for IMU CET Diploma in Nautical Science Admission 2016
Pass in (10 +2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60 percent; or
B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the year, with an average of not less than 50 percent of marks in the final year; or
B.E/ B.Tech Degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE with an average of not less than 50 percent of marks in the final year; and
The applicants must have obtained 50 percent marks in English language at 10th or 12th Std. or in the Degree course conducted by recognized Board or any University
Male Applicants belonging to General (GEN) and Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) categories, the date of birth must fall between 02nd January 1990 & 01st February 1999.
Female Applicants of General (GEN) and Other Backward Classes (OBCNCL) categories the date of birth should fall between 02nd February 1988 & 01st February 1999.
Male & Female Applicants belonging to SC/ST the date of birth should fall between 02nd February 1986.
Course Fees Details
The Programme Offered is Residential.
For Male / Female applicants: Rs.2,20,000/- Per Year.
Only unmarried applicants are eligible to apply for DNS, Leading to B.Sc., (Nautical Science).
Applicants desirous of joining these courses are advised to apply for Passport before taking admission.
How to Apply..?
Admissions to Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc (Nautical Science) programme of February 2017 Batch in Affiliated Institutes are open only to ‘Sponsored Applicants’, i.e. applicants sponsored by Ship Owning or Managing Companies who qualify in IMU’s CET for DNS. 1. Common Entrance Tests for Admissions to DNS – Feb 2017 Batch:
Admission to DNS programme of the Affiliated Institutes will be through All India Common Entrance Test for which the applicants have to appear.
The Application fee is Rs1000/- for General applicants and Rs700/- for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe applicants.
The Syllabus for CET for UG Programs will be Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude at Plus 2 level (CBSE, ISE and State Boards).
Online Registration of Applicants with facility to upload photographs scanned signatures and paid challan copy and to download and print filled-in application in standard formats. For Online Registration, Applicants should visit the website of the Indian Maritime University at http://www.imu.edu.in and click on the CET February 2017 hyperlink.
Provision for printing filled in challan for making payment through Offline mode (bank challan based) payment.
Arranging Test Venues at designated cities with sufficient number of computers, relevant software and necessary personnel to administer the CET smoothly without any hitch.
Facility for Applicants to take at least 2 Web-based Mock Tests of a nature similar to IMU’s CET so that they can get familiar with the Computer-based mode of testing.
Facility for Applicants to download their Hall Tickets/Admit Cards with the name of the Test Venue indicated.
Automated e-mails/SMS to every registered Applicant on successful registration of Application, uploading of Hall Ticket, publication of results, etc.
Conducting the CET at the designated Test Venues.
Evaluation of answers and publication of CET results within 3 days.
Applicants are also requested to periodically visit the IMU’s website www.imu.edu.in to keep track of new announcements and changes if any.
The IMU shall not be responsible for any mistakes committed by an Applicant owing to his negligence in this aspect.
