Common Law Admission Test 2017

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an All India Entrance Test for admission to Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programs (LLB & LLM) for the academic year 2017.

Programmes Offered

The Under-Graduate Programme offered by the National Law Universities:

The Sixteen NLUs offer a five-year integrated under-graduate law courses leading to the award of B.A. LL.B (Hons), B.Sc LL.B (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSW LLB (Hons), B.Com LLB (Hons) degrees. While BA LL.B (Hons) is offered by most of the universities, B.Sc LLB (Hons) Course is offered by WBNUJS (Kolkata), NLU (Jodhpur) and GNLU (Gandhinagar); BBA LLB (Hons) is offered by NLU (Jodhpur), GNLU (Gandhinagar), CNLU (Patna) and NLUO (Cuttack); whereas BSW LLB (Hons) and B.Com LLB (Hons) degree courses are offered by GNLU (Gandhinagar) alone.

The Post-Graduate Programme offered by the National Law Universities:

The information of the LLM degree course offered at the various NLUs with the duration and the specializations have been provided in detail under the sections of each University; the applicants are also advised to check the websites of respective Universities from time to time to keep themselves updated about the changes in the course structure and other details.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2017

Eligibility Criteria for admission to UG/PG Programs

The qualification and other details as provided by Statutes of each University for admission to UG/PG program, is given as follows:

Educational Qualification for UG Programme: A applicant must have obtained Higher Secondary School/ Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognized Board with not less than 45 percent marks in aggregate (40 percent in case of SC/ST applicants), as prescribed by the respective Statutes of the participating Universities

Age for UG Programme: A applicant must be below 20years of age as on 01st July 2015 (22years in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disability applicants, as prescribed by the respective Statutes of the participating Universities

Educational Qualification for PG Programme: A applicant must have obtained an LL.B/a five year integrated LL.B/any other equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55 percent marks in aggregate (50 percent in case of SC/ST applicants), as prescribed by the respective Statutes of the participating Universities.

Age for PG Programme: The participating Universities have not prescribed any upper age limit for PG Programmes.

Reservation for UG/PG Programme: As per the Statutes of respective participating Universities; details may be seen in the prospectus of the respective University appended herewith.

How to Apply..?

The CLAT 2017 is being conducted by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National University, Lucknow (Website www.rmlnlu.ac.in)

Application Form and Information Brochure for CLAT 2017

The CLAT 2017 Online Application Form will be accessible on the CLAT website (www.clat.ac.in) between January 01st 2017 to March 31st 2017 along-with the Information Brochure

No hard copy of the Application Form and Information Brochure will be sold

CLAT 2017 Information Brochure (not the application form) will also be accessible from the respective website of all the participating NLU(s)

CLAT 2017 Application Fee

The applicants have to pay the application fee for general OBC/PWD and other category applicants Rs4000/- while submitting the Application Form of CLAT-2017.

The fee is Rs3500/- in case of the SC/ST category applicants.

The applicants will have to bear the bank transaction costs for remitting the fee online while submitting the application form.

The above application fee includes cost of online application form and e-brochure.

Previous year e-Question Papers of CLAT shall be available on the payment of Rs250/- only; for this the mode of payment is Online only.

Date of CLAT Online Exam: May 14th 2017 (Sunday, 03.00 pm to 05.00 pm)
