Post Basic BSc Nursing and MSc Nursing Admission 2016 at WBUHS Kolkata

The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) Kolkata conducts West Bengal Post Graduate Nursing Admission Test Examination (WBPGNAT) and West Bengal NURSING Admission Test Examination (WBNAT) 2016 for admission to M.Sc Nursing & Post Basic B.Sc Nursing) for the admission session 2016.

West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) Kolkata conducted West Bengal Post Graduate Nursing Admission Test Examination (WBPGNAT) and West Bengal NURSING Admission Test Examination (WBNAT) for admission to Post Basic BSc Nursing and MSc Nursing courses for 2016 sessions.

Eligibility Criteria

For M.Sc Nursing Program: Applicant should be B.Sc degree in Nursing/B.Sc (Hons) degree in Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc (Hons) with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in the above exams from any Institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Applicant must have minimum one-year of working experience by 30th June 2016 after passing Basic B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc (Hons) Nursing.

For applicants with Post Basic B.Sc Degree minimum one year of working experience is required prior or after obtaining the degree of Post Basic B.Sc Nursing. Applicants who have acquired degree of B.Sc/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing through Distance Education are not eligible.

2 years of working, experience is required for such applicants who obtained their degree through Distance Education.

For Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Program: Applicant must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination (those who have passed 10+1 before 1978 are also eligible to apply).

Applicant must have passed GNM examination and obtained GNM certificate/RNRM certificate registered by the State Nursing Council of any State of India.

Exam Pattern

Two separate Admission Tests will be conducted by the WBUHS for the applicants seeking admission to the M.Sc Nursing Course and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Course 2016.

The question papers for the Admission tests shall be set in English and each shall contain 100 single best response type Multiple Choice Questions. The duration of the Admission test will be of 80 minutes.

The following is the list showing the approximate number of questions from different Clinical subjects & Non-clinical subjects which will be set in the Admission tests for the following Courses:

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Course: (a) Anatomy, Physiology, Sociology, Psychology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Nutrition, Pathology (40 No. of Questions).

(b) Foundation of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Obstetrical Nursing, Community Health Nursing: (60 No. of Questions).

M.Sc Nursing Course: (a) Anatomy (03) Physiology (03), Sociology (03), Psychology (04), Microbiology (04), Pathology (04), Pharmacology (04), Genetics (03), Administration (04) Education (04), Research Methodology & Statistics (04) – 40 Nos.

(b) Foundation of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Obstetrical Nursing, Community Health Nursing (60 No. of Questions).

For both the Exam, applicant will be awarded one (1) mark for each correct answer and no mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. Multiple answers will be regarded as incorrect answer.

Qualifying marks for empanelment for selection will be minimum of 35 marks for SC/ST applicants, 40 for OBC (provided new seats are added and earmarked for OBC) applicants and 45 marks for unreserved category applicants.

How to Apply?

Applicants should go through and strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Booklet for Nursing Courses as published in www.buhs.ac.in / www.buhsexams.in in April 2016, while applying for different courses.

Application must be complete in all respect. All application are to be submitted online as per guidelines first then two more pages will come with an Acknowledgement number, which will be submitted to the WBUHS with required documents by post.

The Print-copy of the application as per Section 3 in the preceding pages along with particulars of on-line or off-line payment will be submitted personally at the office of Controller of Exam of the University or by speed-post in the address of “Controller of Exams, The West Bengal University of Health Sciences, DD-36, Salt Lake, Sector-1, Kolkata-700064”

The application must reach the office of the WBUHS within May 27th 2016 in person and May 30th 2016 by speed post.

a) M.Sc Nursing – Rs.3000/-

b) Post Basic B.Sc Nursing – Rs.2000/-

No other document except proof of payment through copy of the challan for off line payment/any proof for on-line payment and copy of Election Photo Identity Card/PAN Card/Passport is to be submitted with application form.

Important Dates for WBPGNAT and WBNAT 2016

Online Registration Start: May 11th to May 23rd 2016 (02.00 pm)

Online Submission of Fees Date: May 11th to May 24th 2016 (08.00 pm)

Offline Submission of Fees Date (during banking hours in any branch): 11th to 24th May 2016

Online uploading of all documents registration & Payment of Fees: 11th to 26th May 2016

Submission of print copy of forms at WBUHS in Person: 11th May to 27th May 2016

Print-copies will not be received in the office of the WBUHS in person after May 27th 2016 however Print-copies sent by Speed Post will be received up to May 30th 2016

Admit the Applicant from the University Website can download Card: June 08th 2016

Date of Admission Test (Written Test): June 12th 2016

Declaration of result on or before June 28th 2016

Course to Start from August 01st 2016
