Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, TANUVAS Chennai has invited online applications for admission to 2 years Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc) Program for the academic session 2017-18.

Master of Veterinary Science Eligibility Criteria 2017
Applicants possessing a B.V.Sc. /B.V.Sc. & AH degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereof shall be eligible to apply. The applicants should have completed their degrees from colleges recognized by the Veterinary Council of India.
Applicants with an OGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% aggregate under semester pattern alone are eligible to apply for admission to M.V.Sc., degree program.
Applicants who have studied under conventional system should possess a minimum of 55% marks in their Bachelor’s degree. Applicants who have passed B.V.Sc & AH degree under the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) regulations should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks.
For SC/ST applicants, a minimum pass is sufficient.
75% of the admission strength for the year is available for the applicants from Tamil Nadu. The remaining 25% is reserved for applicants from other states through ICAR.
TANUVAS MVSc Selection Process
The selection of applicants for admission to M.V.Sc. / M. Tech. degree programs shall be done on the basis of the marks obtained in the Common Entrance Exam and the qualifying exam marks obtained in the BVSc & AH / B Tech Degree Programs. The distribution of marks is as follows:
(i) Common Entrance Examination Marks: 100.
Qualifying Examination (BVSc & AH / BTech) Marks: 100.
Total Marks: 200
Based on the marks obtained, the Chairman, Admission Committee (PG) will draw a merit list separately for Tamil Nadu State applicants and applicants from other states and publish it at the TANUVAS Website.
In case of equal total marks, the ranking will be done in the merit list based on the marks secured in the Common Entrance Examination alone.
The eligible applicants will be called for Counselling as per the merit list. Applicants securing less than 50% of total marks shall not be called for Counselling.
SC/ST applicants securing less than 40% of total marks shall not be called for Counselling.
MVSc Common Entrance Exam
The Common Entrance Examination for M.V.Sc. admission will be of undergraduate level covering the subjects taught and will contain 200 objective type questions with four responses.
Each question will carry 0.5 mark and the maximum marks will be 100. The examination will be of three hours duration.
MVSc Counselling Procedure
Eligible applicants will be called for Counselling as per the rank. MVSc applicants can choose any one of the disciplines and campus available at the time of Counselling.
Alternatively, they can opt to remain on the waiting list. If an applicant desires to be on the waiting list, he/she will not be given any firm seat in other disciplines.
The waiting list will be filled by second Counselling based on merit and vacancy.
Reservation: The rules of reservation as per the Government of Tamil Nadu shall be followed. Rules of reservation are applicable only when there are four or more seats in each discipline. If the number of seats is less than four, selection will be based on merit alone.

Applicants should carefully read the Prospectus before filling up the application form online.
Applicants may submit applications online at www.tanuvas.ac.in, www2.tanuvas.ac.in on or before August 31st 2017, 05.45 PM.
Other formats of application will summarily be rejected.
Applicants should ensure that correct amount of ONLINE APPLICATION FEE paid by using the method viz. a) Credit Card b) Debit Card c) Internet Banking and d) IMPS in the ONLINE PAYMENT GATEWAY.
After submitting the application online the applicants should take a print out, duly sign (Applicant and parents/guardian), attached relevant certificates/documents and send separately for each application by post in person to “The Chairman, Admission Committee (PG), Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai-690051” on or before September 04th 2017
