PG Program in Cinema 2016 at SRFTI Kolkata
Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) Kolkata the premiere Centre of Cinematic Learning, has invited applications for admission to 3 years Post Graduate Program in Cinema (full-time) for 2016-19 sessions.
Duration: 3-year (full time), Postgraduate Program in Cinema.
Integrated Course in I & II Semester-20 weeks each (common for all Specializations except Animation Cinema); for Animation Cinema 6 weeks of integrated course.
Specializations Offered: i) Direction and Screenplay Writing, ii) Cinematography, iii) Editing, iv) Producing for Film and Television, v) Sound Recording and Design, vi) Animation Cinema.
Number of Students: Maximum 70 students per batch (10 students for Animation Cinema, 12 students each for other specialization).
Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent (the applicants who will have the marks sheet of the final exam for bachelor’s degree in their hand before last date of admission as per merit list are eligible to apply).
For Animation Cinema, applicants should have proficiency in drawing.
The selection of applicants to be called for the called for the Interactive Orientation Course is provision subject to:
(i) Fulfillment of the eligibility criteria
(ii) Verification of the marks/degrees (equivalence to graduate etc)
Applicants who do not satisfy the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission, even if they are provisionally selected for admission.

Medium of Instruction: English
A written examination will be held at different centres on May 22nd 2016. Short listed applicants will be called for Interactive Orientation Session and Viva-Voice at the Institute.
Centers for Written Exam: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhopal, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Srinagar and Dehradun.
Application Fee for the applicants other than SC/ST category and for applicants in SC/ST category are Rs.2000/- and Rs.500/- respectively.
How to Apply?
Applications are to be made on-line through the website www.srfti.ac.in. Application fee has to be made in any branch of SBI using the prescribed Bank Challan, in favour Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata.
After successful submission of the application online, applicants will be assigned system generated registration no; the applicants are required to take printout of the Application form after successful submission of the application online and keep it with them.
Prospective applicants are advised to visit website at regular intervals for updates. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. The application fee will not be refunded in any case.
