Sambalpur University Odisha has invited applications from the intending applicants for PhD Program and Entrance Test under faculties of the Sambalpur University for 2018 sessions (Course Work to start from January 2018).

Subjects Offered: Anthropology, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Science & Engineering, Life Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology, English, History, Geology, Management, Ayurvedic, Geography,  Lib & Information Science, Law, Statistics, Hindi,  Food Science & Technology, Home Science, Computer Science, Electronics, Commerce and Odia.

PhD Eligibility Criteria

The applicant, who have obtained Master’s Degree in any discipline of Sambalpur University or any other University/Institute recognized by this University or such Degree as may be considered equivalent for this purpose by this University with at least 55% (or equivalent grade), shall be eligible for admission into the PhD Programme.

However, applicants belonging to SC/ST category shall be given a relaxation of 5% marks at Master’s Degree level.

Entrance/Processing Fee

The applicants must download the Challan Form (available on the University website (www.suniv.ac.in) and deposit Rs.1500/- in any branch of the State Bank of India towards processing and entrance fee.

The Bank will provide a Journal No. against the deposit, which should be given in the application form at the time of online registration.

PhD Selection Process

The final selection of all qualified applicants shall be based on career (80%) and Viva-Voce (20%) which will be conducted by the respective Nodal Centres on a pre-notified date.

All such selected applicants shall be eligible to enroll in PhD Course Work equivalent to 1st Semester of M.Phil in the Nodal Centre.

Applicant securing a minimum of 6.5 Grade Point in the Course Work shall be eligible for PhD registration under Sambalpur University.

The decision of the University authority shall be final and binding in the interpretation of application and regulation for PhD programme of Sambalpur University.

The Application form can be downloaded from the university website www.suniv.ac.in.

The intending applicant shall apply in the prescribed format available in the PG Central Office during office hours on working days in person on payment of Rs.500/- in cash.

The application filled in the prescribed format in duplicate along with the bank draft of Rs.1000/- (non-refundable) for the entrance test in favour of Chairman, PG Council, two recent attested passport size photographs and other academic records showing the qualification of the applicants, money receipt of form etc must reach the undersigned.

Applications received after the due date shall be rejected.
