NID Kurukshetra Graduate Diploma Programme in Design Admission 2016
National Institute of Design (NID) Kurukshetra has invited applications for admission to admission to Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) for 2016-17 sessions at its transit campus located at Govt. Polytechnic, Umri, Kurukshetra (Haryana).
The Institute announces admission to its four years full-time Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (for 10+2 pass in any stream) in:
- Industrial Design
- Communication Design
- Textiles and Apparel Design
The Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) commences with a two semester rigorous Foundation Programme followed by 3 years of specialised studies in any of the three disciplines offered in GDPD.
All applicants applying for Graduate Diploma Programme in Design programs must fulfil the following criteria:
Age Limit: Upper age limit for the applicants is 20 years of age (relaxable by three years for reserved category) on or before July 01st 2016.
General Category applicants: Applicants born on or before July 01st 1996 are not eligible.
Reserved Category applicants (OBC – NCL, SC, ST & PH): Applicants born on or before July 01st 1993 are not eligible.
Educational Qualification: Applications for academic year 2016-17 is open to applicants who have passed or will appear for the qualifying examinations under the higher secondary (10+2) from any recognised board of education such as AISSCE/ IB/ ICSE or equivalent during the academic year 2015-16.
Examinations considered as equivalent to Class XII are:
The final exam of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognizsed by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiuweb.org).
Final Exam of the two year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy
Applicants who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) exam outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of India Universities to the effect that the exam they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII exam.
Reservation of Seats
Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules of the Govt. of India. The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows:

Gen (51.5%)-31 Seats; OBC-NCL (27%)-16 Seats; SC (15%)-09 Seats & ST (7.5%)-4/5 Seats
All applicants applying for the GDPD programme and having made necessary payment for registration will be called for the Design Aptitude Test (DAT).
There will be one question paper containing multiple choice questions (MCQs) with OMR sheet for answers by the applicants; the question papers will be in English and carry a total 100 marks.
At the announced test centres, the DAT will be held from 10.00 am to 01.00 pm on August 28th 2016.
Based on the scores obtained in DAT shortlisted applicants only will be called for a second round of exams at NID Kurukshetra transit campus, as per the announcements on the website.

Fill the details to register for any programme. You must have a valid email ID for applying online.
Payment through Debit Card/Credit Card: Keep the Debit Card/Credit Card Details handy for payment of application fee (Rs.1500/- in case of GEN/OBC (Non-Creamy) applicants and Rs.750/- in case of SC/ST/PHP applicants).
Applicants applying through Demand Draft (DD) are required to send the printout of the Application Form, duly completed in all respect, along with Demand Draft (DD) on the following address so as to reach on or before 12 August 2016, Project Manager – CMS, All India Management Association Management House, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003.
The duly filled in form should reach the above address on or before August 12th 2016. Incomplete forms or forms received late will not be accepted.
