Professional Degree Courses in Nursing, Pharmacy, and Paramedical | LBS Kerala Courses 2017

LBS Centre for Science and Technology, LBS Kerala has invited applications for admission to Professional Degree Courses in Nursing, Pharmacy and Paramedical Streams for 2017-18 sessions, which has been approved by the Government of Kerala.

Degree Courses

To the following Degree Courses conducted by various authorities within the State of Kerala. Name of the courses with standard abbreviation and their computer codes:

  • Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm): DP
  • Diploma in Health Inspector (DHI): HI
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT): ML
  • Diploma in Radiological Technology (DRT): RT
  • Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistance (DOA): OA
  • Diploma in Dental Mechanics (DMC): MC
  • Diploma in Dental Hygienist (DHC): HC
  • Diploma in Operation Theatre & Anesthesia Technology (DOTAT): OT
  • Diploma in Cardio Vascular Technology (DCVT): CV
  • Diploma in Neuro Technology (DNT): NT
  • Diploma in Dialysis Technology (DDT): DT
  • Diploma in Endoscopic Technology (DET): ET
  • Diploma in Dental Operating Room Assistance (DORA): DA

Admissions to the above courses are regulated on the basis of merit as assessed in the rank list prepared based on the marks obtained in the final year of the qualifying exams.

Duration of the Courses: Duration of the course including practical training is 2 years and three months (all courses).

Professional Degree Courses Eligibility Criteria

Nativity: Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission unless otherwise notified. Holders of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cards/ OCI (Overseas Citizen of India), will also be treated at par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admissions. However, PIO/OCI applicants will not be eligible for any kind of reservation.

Applicants seeking admission to the courses will be categorized as Keralite and Non-Keralite.

a) Keralite: Applicant of Kerala origin will be categorized as a ‘Keralite’. Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala cadre are deemed to be ‘Keralites’ as per G.O.

b) Non-Keralite: Applicant who is not of ‘Kerala origin’ but who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who is the son/daughter of the following categories of Non-Keralite parents will be categorized as Non-Keralite:

i) Employees of the Govt. of India and defense personnel posted to Kerala.

ii) Employees, who are serving the Govt. of Kerala, subject to the condition that the employees have served in the state of Kerala or for the state of Kerala, for a minimum period of two years.

Academic Qualifications

D.Pharm (DP) – DHI (HI)

a) Applicants who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or exams recognized equivalent thereto, with 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. Relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to SC/ST applicants.

b) In the absence of applicants as per clause 6.2.2 (a), those who have passed Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or exams recognized equivalent thereto, with 40% marks in any group of subjects put together, are eligible.

Relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to SC/ST applicants.

Paramedical Courses (Courses other than D.Pharm and DHI)

Applicants who have passed Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible.

Relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to SC/ST applicants.

Applicants who have passed VHSE with 40% marks put together for Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible. Relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to SC/ST applicants.

Applicants who are eligible as per clause 6.2.3 (b) and who have passed VHSE with Medical Laboratory Technology, Maintenance and Operation of Bio Medical Equipment as well as ECG and Audiometric Technology are further eligible for the seats reserved for DMLT(ML), DOTT (OT)and DCVT (CV) respectively.

Age Limit

Except for service applicants, all other applicants shall have completed 17 years of age on December 31st 2017 and upper age limit is 35 as on December 31st 2017.

No relaxation in the age limit shall be made on any account, except for Management quota seats of D Pharm Course where the maximum age limit is exempted.

LBS Kerala Application Form 2017 | LBS Kerala Online Registration 2017

Application for admission to Professional Diploma Courses 2017 in Pharmacy, Health Inspector and other Paramedical Courses in various Government/Self Financing Institutions can be registered only online through a single application. The provision for applying online is available at the website www.lbscentre.in.

Submission of more than one application by an applicant will lead to rejection of the candidature.

LBS Kerala Application Fee

a) The application fee will be as follows:

For General Applicants: Rs.400/-

For SC/ST Applicants: Rs.200/-

Applicants who are children of Inter-Caste married couple of which one is SC/ST who will be eligible for educational and monetary benefits admissible to SC/ST as per of GO (MS) should remit the fee meant for SC/ST and should attach an inter-caste marriage Certificate from the Revenue officials with the print out of the online application form.

LBS Kerala Application Deadlines

Application fee can be remitted in any of the Federal Bank branches from September 11th to September 25th 2017
