Karnataka PGCET 2017 for MBA MCA ME MTech MArch Admissions – Eligibility, Application Form, Application Procedure, Entrance Exams, Important Dates and more

Applications are invited from the eligible interested Karnataka and Non-Karnataka applicants for admission to 1st year / 1st Semester Full Time/Part Time MBA/MCA/M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch Course and for 2nd year Lateral Entry to MCA Course in the institutions affiliated Universities which will be notified by the Govt. of Karnataka for 2017-18 sessions.

Karnataka PGCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

For Full Time M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch Course

Applicant with valid GATE score.

Applicant who has passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years/semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.E/M. Tech/M. Arch Courses (45% of marks in Q.E. in case of SC/ST and Category-I applicants.

(Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Applicants)

For Part Time ME/M.Tech/M.Arch Courses

Applicant who has passed prescribed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to ME/M.Tech /M.Arch Courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I Karnataka applicants).

(Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Applicants)

Admission to the PT M.Tech Quality Improvement Program (QIP) shall be open to regular faculty working in institutions in Karnataka state:

i) Who have passed BE/B. Tech Examination (in relevant field) of VTU or any other recognized University / Institution and have passed the qualifying examination in second class (50% aggregate).

(No relaxation in minimum percentage will be given for these admissions)

ii) Having experience of one academic year, and

iii) Working place shall be within 100 kms from the institutions where they seek admission. Not only a applicant who has passed the qualifying exam with requisite marks but also a applicant who is appearing for the Q. E. and expecting the results is eligible to apply for the PGCET-2017

For MBA

For Full Time MBA Courses: Applicant who has passed Recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka applicants).

For Part Time MBA Courses:  Applicant who has passed recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration exam or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka applicants).

For MCA: Applicant who has passed any recognized under graduate examination or equivalent examination with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Applications or Computer Programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Exam is eligible for admission to MCA courses. 45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka applicants.

Lateral Entry to 2nd year MCA: Applicant who has passed recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration exam in BCA, B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science) with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate Level and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Exam is eligible for admission to MCA Courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka applicants).

No Part Time courses are offered for MCA.

Karnataka PGCET 2017 Application Procedure

Step-I: Enter all the details ONLINE by browsing URL on website http://kea.kar.nic by selecting “PGET-2017”. After completion of entry of all the details applicants will receive an application ID and Password to their registered email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen.

Step-II: Upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Colour Photo and Signature in JPEG format separately.

Step-III: Take the printout of the Challan Copy, which is in Duplicate/Triplicate. Applicants have to pay an amount of Rs.650/- for General OBC (Rs.500/- for SC/ST Category-1 only for Karnataka applicants).

Further, applicants residing in Karnatka can apply pay in E-payment Post offices. The Post Office will retain Post Office copy of the Challan and handover the Applicant cope of the Challan to the applicants.

The Information/particulars entered by the applicants online for PGCET-2017 will be deemed as “Final” and will be the basis for further process. No change in any information entered by the applicants will be entertained.

Commencement of Entry of Application Online: May 17th 2017

Last Date of Enter of Application Details Online: June 01st 2017 (05.30 pm)

Last Date to Pay the Fees in the Specified Bank: June 02nd 2017 (Banking Hours)

Downloading of Admission Tickets: June 20th 2017
