Jammu University Entrance Test 2017 for UG PG and PG Diploma Courses
Jammu University conducted Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) 2017 for admission to the Post Graduate Programs, Post Graduate Diploma Programs and Under Graduate Programs of the University of Jammu for 2017 sessions.
Post Graduate (PG) Programs: Biochemistry (Self-Financing), Biotechnology (NRI/Self-Financing), Botany, Buddhist Studies, Chemistry, Commerce (M.Com), Computer Science & IT (MCA), Dogri, Economics, Economics (Specialization in Public Policy), Education, Electronics, English, Environmental Sciences, Food Science & Technology, Geography, Applied Geology, Geology (Hydrology And Soil Dynamics), Hindi, History, Home Science (Human Dev.), Home Science (Clothing & Textiles), Human Genetics (Self-Financing Course), Information Technology ( M.Sc IT), Kashmiri, Law (LL.B – 3 Years Professional), M.Ed., B.Lib.I.Sc., M.Lib.I.Sc, B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed, Mathematics, Microbiology (Self-Financing Course), Music, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Punjabi, Remote Sensing & GIS (Self-Financing Course), Rural Development, Sanskrit, Sericulture, Sociology, Statistics, Urdu, Zoology.
Post Graduate Diploma Programs: PG Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM), PG Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA), Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Rights & Duties Education, PG Diploma in Marketing & Sales Management, PG Diploma in Banking & Risk Management, PG Diploma in Accounting & Finance, PG Diploma in Bioinformatics.
Under Graduate (UG) Programs: B.Com (Honours), B.B.A. (Hotel Management), B.A. English (Honours), Law (B.A. LLB – 5 years).
Eligibility Criteria for JUET 2017 Programs
Eligibility criteria for Masters Degree (excluding Ph.D & M.Phil), B.Lib.I.Sc, Bachelor Degree (LLB) and B.P.Ed: Passed graduation with science, Arts, commerce or Business administration.
Applicants should have completed 2 years of degree course by following the 10+2+2 or 10+1+3 pattern. Besides, they should have completed one year of duration bridge course comprising Part III of B.Sc/ BA/B.Com.
Applicants should have completed 3 years of professional degree course along with 40% of marks (36% of marks for SC/ST category applicants).
Applicants who do not belong to territorial of the University of Jammu but obtained 60% of marks B.Sc/ BA/B.Com/BCA/BBA.
JUET 2017 Exam Pattern
There shall be two question papers, one for PG and the other for UG Courses Comprising of 150 Objective Type Questions of one mark each and the duration for the entrance test shall be 2½ hours. The contents of the paper and weightage shall be:
- General English – 40 questions
- General Knowledge – 40 questions
- Reasoning – 40 questions
- Numerical Ability – 30 questions
For every wrong answer, there shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks. The applicant securing less than 30% marks for general category and 25% for SC/ST category shall not be eligible for admission. The following weightage shall be given to the applicants:
- Academic Merit – 75%
- Entrance Test – 25%
There shall be two question papers for JUET-2017, one for the applicant appearing after 12th class and other for the applicants appearing after graduation.
The level of numerical ability shall be of 10th standard only for both the question papers.
The level of test for other components shall be of 12th standard in case of applicant appearing after 12th class and graduation standard for the applicants appearing after graduation.
Exam Center: JUET shall be conducted at the following Centres – Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Rajouri, Poonch, Srinagar and Leh.
Applicants will be allowed to download their respective admit card in between May 31st to June 12th 2017. You need to go to the official website for downloading your admit card.
How to Apply?
Applicants will be required to apply online exclusively through the website www.juet.in
Once the JUET Entrance application form is submitted online, the system will generate a challan form preprinted with the applicant’s details. The applicants are required to pay the requisite fee at any of the designated Branch of the Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. nearest to him/her through offline mode.
The applicants are requested to positively collect hard copy of JUET-2017 Brochure from the J&K Bank Ltd. at the time of payment of requisite fee. On payment of the requisite fee through computer generated challan, the process for the online application will be completed.
Application Fee for the Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) to be charged from each applicant is Rs.650/- for General Category and Rs.550/- for SC/ST/ST (Leh & Kargil). The applicant desirous to be considered under self financing seats has to pay additional Rs.550/- along with the requisite Entrance Fee.
