IMU CET 2017 Eligibility Criteria | Eligibility for IMU CET 2017

1-year DNS Program leading to B.Sc. (Applied Nautical Sci.) [Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi]: i) 10+2/equivalent (PCM-60%) or ii) B.Sc (PCM)/B.Sc (Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years) Marks not less than 50% or

B.E/B.Tech from IIT or college recognised by AICTE Marks not less than 50%.

3-year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) [Chennai, Mumbai & Cochin]: 10+2/equivalent (PCM-60% & English 50%); in case of SC/ST applicants there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.

3-year B.Sc. (Maritime Science) [Mumbai]: 10+2/ equivalent (PCM-60% & English 50%); in case of SC/ST applicants there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English marks.

MBA Port & Shipping Mgmt., International Transportation & Logistics Mgt. (2 years) (offered by Chennai, Kochi & Kolkata): A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum of 50% marks from Recognized universities. A minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th/UG Degree.

In case of SC/ST applicants there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however it will not apply to English marks).

M.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engg /Dredging & Harbour Engg (2 years) [offered by Vishakhapatnam]: Graduate Engineering in Mechanical /Civil /Aeronautical /Marine /Naval Architecture or equivalent with 60% aggregate. In case of SC/ST, applicants there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.

PhD (Nonresidential) [offered Vishakhapatnam]: Postgraduate degree in Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture.

LL.M (Maritime Law): 50% in any law degree.

Age Limit for IMU CET 2017

(For U.G Programs)

Age as on the date of admission on 01st July 2017 shall be as follows:

  • Minimum age 17 years
  • Maximum age 25 Years

For Scheduled Castes (SC) & Schedule Tribe applicants (ST) Applicants maximum age relaxation is for five (5) years.

Reservations of Seats

  • Applicants – 15% Quota
  • OBC applicants – 27% should be part of Non Creamy layer
  • ST – 7.5%
  • DA applicants – 3%

Any applicant who is applying for the reserved category should have valid caste certificate as per Govt. of India.

Physical Fitness

Applicants who are applying for all these courses needs to comply with medical standards of D.G. Shipping and they have to go through a medical exam, before appearing for the counseling.
