Film and Television Institute of India – FTII Pune has invited applications for admissions to PG Diploma and Certificates Courses in Film for the 2018-19 sessions.

2-year postgraduate diploma in Acting: 10

1-year postgraduate certificate course in TV Direction: 10

1-year postgraduate certificate course in Electronic Cinematography: 10

1-year postgraduate certificate course in Video Editing: 10

Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

  1. PG Diploma in Direction & Screenplay Writing: Bachelor’s Degree
  2. PG Diploma in Cinematography: Bachelor’s Degree
  3. PG Diploma in Sound Recording and Sound Design: Bachelor’s Degree with Physics as a subject at Senior Secondary (10+2) level
  4. PG Diploma in Editing: Bachelor’s Degree
  5. PG Diploma in Acting: Bachelor’s Degree
  6. PG Diploma in Art Direction and Production Design: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/ Painting/Applied Arts / Sculpture/ Interior Design in or any related field in the Fine Arts or an equivalent qualification.
  7. PG Certificate Course in Feature Film Screenplay Writing: Bachelor’s Degree.
  8. PG Certificate Course in TV Direction: Bachelor’s Degree.
  9. PG Certificate Course in Electronic Cinematography: Bachelor’s Degree.
  10. PG Certificate Course in Video Editing: Bachelor’s Degree.
  11. PG Certificate Course in Sound Recording and TV Engg: Bachelor’s Degree with Physics as a subject at Senior Secondary (10+2) level.

Proportionate no. of seats is reserved for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) applicants as per Govt. of India policy of reservations.

Applicants claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layer)/PwD must possess necessary/ valid caste and/or disability certificate as the case may be at the time of applying for the courses.

Applicants applying through ICCR should get in touch with the respective Indian Embassies only. Such applicants are to submit credentials regarding his/ her knowledge of English Language and need to appear for English Language Test.

Appeared Graduates

Appeared Graduates may also apply; such applicants opting for Film Courses must submit graduation certificate/ mark-sheet while reporting for documentation verification before Orientation; those opting for TV Courses must submit the same while reporting for documentation verification before Interview.

Selection Criteria

For PG Diploma and Certificate courses in film except acting: There will be a written examination of 3 hour duration for 100 marks. Those qualified applicants will be called for orientation, interview and a medical test which will be later held at Pune. Based on all this criteria, the final merit list will be prepared.

For PG Diploma Course in Acting: Applicants applying for PG Diploma course in Acting at Pune FTII need to attend a written examination of 3 hour duration for 100 marks. If you qualify this test, you have to attend an audition and the result 1 will be announced. Based on this result, the applicants will be called for orientation, interview and a medical test. The result 2 will be announced based on the performance at orientation and interview. The final result will be prepared on the basis of result 1, result 2 and medical test.

For PG course in Television: Applicant who wish to join PG course in Television at Pune FTII must attend a written examination of 3 hour duration for 100 marks. Actually, this exam doesn’t carry any weightage for further admission process and it is meant only for qualifying in nature. Qualified applicants will be called for an orientation and interview and thereafter the final result will be prepared on the basis of a medical test also.

Written Test

Written Test under FTII Entrance Exam 2018 for all the courses will be held on February 18th 2018 (Sunday) (Date can be changed if there are unavoidable reasons).

Application Fee

Rs.4000/- for General /OBC-NCL applicants and Rs.1250/- for SC/ST and Economically Backward applicants.

Application Procedure

Applications are to be made online through the website of the Institute www.ftiindia.com till March 25th 2018.

To apply online, the applicant need to draw a demand draft (as application fees) of Rs. 4000/- for General Category & OBC and Rs.1250/- for SC/ST and Economically Backward applicants (Parents should be BPL card holders) drawn on any of the Nationalized Banks in favor of “Accounts Officer, Film and Television Institute of India, Pune” payable at Pune.
