Post Graduate Degree Courses in Engineering by Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala – Eligibility, Application Form, Selection Procedure, Seats, Important Dates and more

Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala has invited application for Post Graduate Degree Courses in Engineering are being offered to the graduates in Engineering, in various Engineering Colleges in the state for awarding Masters Degree in the appropriate branches by the Universities concerned.

The course shall extent over a period of 24 months consisting of 4 Semesters.

Institutions & Intake: For the PG Courses in the Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges in the State, a rank list will be published from among the applicants and admission will be done to the 50% seats by institutions themselves from the rank list, by inviting separate applications.

DTE Kerala PG in Engineering 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The applicants shall be an Indian National.

The applicants should have studied the Graduate course in an institution approved by the AICTE / Deemed Universities in India.

Applicants should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree Exam For SC/ST applicants a pass in the Engineering Degree course is sufficient. For SEBC (OBC) students, a minimum of 54% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree Examination is mandatory.

Applicants, who have passed AMIE/AMIETE Exams and satisfying the following conditions, are eligible for admission.

(i) They must have valid GATE score

(ii) A minimum of 55% marks for section B in AMIE/AMIETE examination

Applicants who have appeared for the final semester exam can also apply, provided he / she has passed all the subjects up to and including the 6th semester exam (8th semester for B. Arch students). Confirmation of admission of such applicants shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree – before the date Stipulated by the affiliated University.

Admission shall normally be restricted to those with valid GATE score; however, this stipulation is relaxed in the case of Sponsored applicants.

DTE Kerala Post Graduate Degree Courses 2017 Selection Procedure

Applicants will have to register their option while submitting the application. There will not be any provision to change the option.

The selection of Applicants will be supervised by the selection committee consisting of the DTE (Chairman), the Senior Joint Director (ECS) and the Principal, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.

Selection of applicants will be based on the GATE score. If sufficient GATE qualified applicants are not available, the selection will be made from Keralite applicants based on the aggregate marks up to 6th semester in their qualifying exam (8th semester for B.Arch students).

Reservation of Seats

  1. 5% Seats are reserved for applicants belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC). Applicants belonging to SEBC (OBC) and OEC should produce a certificate to the extent that the applicant belongs to the community which is designated as an SEBC (OBC) / OEC and does not belong to the category of Creamy Layer.
  2. 15% Seats are reserved for SC/ST Applicants.
  3. The seats reserved for each category will be distributed among the eligible communities by observing the pattern of general reservation rules of the state.
  4. 3% seats are reserved for physically handicapped applicants.
  5. 15% seats relating to management quota in TKM College of Engg., Kollam, MA College of Eng., Kothamangalam & NSS College of Engg, Palakkad will be filled by the Mgmt.

DTE Kerala Post Graduate Degree Courses 2017 Application Procedure

Applications should be filled online logging on to the website www.cet.ac.in or www.dtekerala.gov.in

The different entries in the application are to be filled with extreme care, as this information is used for preparing the rank list.

After submitting the application online, an application fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.100/- in case of SC/ST Applicants) is to be remitted in any specified branch of State Bank of Travancore with chalan generated on submission of the application.

A printout of the filled up application should be taken and sent with copies of the necessary documents, to the Principal, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram-695016.
