AIFD Bangalore Undergraduate and Postgraduate Admission 2017

Army Institute of Fashion and Design (AIFD) Bangalore has invited applications for admission in various UG and PG Courses for 2017-18 sessions.

Courses Offered and Seats

UG Program: 3 years (6 Semesters) B.Sc. Fashion & Apparel Design (Affiliated to Bangalore University) – 60 Intake.

PG Programme: 2 years (4 Semesters) Fashion & Apparel Design [MFAD] (Autonomous) – 20 Intake.

PG Diploma: 2 years (4 Semesters) Fashion Retail & Management [MFAD] (Autonomous) – 20 Intake.

Eligibility Criteria for AIFD Bangalore Admission 2017

Eligibility for Admission to the PG/UG Courses at AIFD: The admission to the Army Institute of Fashion and Design is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and wards of war widows/widows of the Army.

The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to Army Institute of Fashion and Design along with the Application Form.

a. The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army.

Children of ex Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.

b. Adopted/Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows:

Adopted child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.

Step children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible.

Educational Qualifications for UG PG Courses 2017

For UG Course: The applicant must be a 10+2/Equivalent exam in any combination with minimum 35% aggregate marks from recognized boards by UGC/University. Applicants who have passed their 10+2 exam as a regular applicants are only eligible for admission to B.Sc (FAD) as per Bangalore University norms.

Applicants who have passed through distance education system or privately through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are not eligible.

For PG Course: Any graduate with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks recognized by Indian Universities or Equivalent or UGC/AICTE.

Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure for Written Admission Test (WAT) – The Written Admission Test (WAT) 2017 for admission to the UG Course offered by the AIFD Bangalore, will be held on 13th May 2017 from 14:30 hrs to 17:30 at the notified exam centers.

Exam Centres: Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Guwahati.

How to Apply?

Applicants are required to fill in the form given in prospectus.

The Prospectus can be obtained by the applicants from the office of AIFD Bangalore, Nagareshwara Nagenahalli, Kothanur Post, Bangalore-560077 through requisition along with a crossed demand draft for Rs.550/- (with includes Rs.50 postal charges) in favor of Army Institue of Fashion & Design payable at Bangalore.

Money order/Cheque /Postal order will not be accepted.

Prospectus is also available at the Institute, Army Headquarters (AWES) and all the command Headquarters (AWES) on payment of Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.500/-.

Students downloading the forms from website will have to attach a draft of Rs 500/- along with the application form towards applicantship for WAT/CAT.

Admit Card

The admit card for the WAT/CAT will be sent to the applicants by ‘Registered Post’ on the address indicated by them on the white envelope provided with the application form. Applicants are requested to affix stamps of Rs.25/- for the purpose; admit card will be sent only on receipt of the filled application.

Last Date for Receipt of Application Form for UG Course: April 05th 2017 and for PG Course: June 30th 2017

Last Date for Receipt of Application Form (with late fee of Rs.100/-) for UG Course: April 25th 2017 and for PG Course July 05th 2017

Dispatch of Admit Cards to Students for UG Course: April 25th 2017 and for PG Course: July 05th 2017 onwards

Date of WAT for UG Only: May 13th 2017 (Saturday, 14.30 to 17.30 hrs)

Creative Aptitude Test (CAT) and interview for PG Only: July 22nd 2017 (Saturday, 09:00 hrs)

Declaration of Results for UG Course: WAT

Declaration of Results for PG Course: CAT

Announcement of WAT results (only one list) for UG Course: May 22nd 2017 and for PG Course: August 05th 2017

Registration of Applicants for Institute & Hostel by paying Rs.10,000/- & Rs.5000/- respectively for UG Course: June 02nd 2017 and for PG Courses: August 16th 2017

Announcement of final list of selected applicants for admission (for UG Course): June 05th 2017

Dispatch of joining instructions to the selected applicants for UG Course: June 06th 2017 onwards and PG Courses August 17th 2017

Payment of balance of institute and hostel fee for UG Course: June 17th 2017 and for PG Course: August 25th 2017

Last Date to with draw the seats: June 17th 2017

Tentative date of reporting to institute for admission to UG Course: June 19th 2017 and PG Course: August 31st 2017

Commencement of course for UG Course: June 20th 2017 and for PG Course: September 01st 2017
