Army College of Dental Science MDS Admission 2017

Army College of Dental Sciences (ACDS) Secunderabad is being conducted the Post Graduate Written Test (PG-WAT) for admission to MDS Courses 2017, will be on the basis of PG NEET merit through counselling for the wards of Army/retired Army personnel conducted by Army College of Dental Sciences, Secunderabad.

Courses & Seats

Number of seats for the current academic year is 15 seats.

Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Prosthodontics & Crown & Bridge (03 Seats); Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics (03 Seats); Periodontics (03 Seats); Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry (02 Seats); Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics (02 Seats); Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (02 Seats).

Eligibility Criteria for ACDS Secunderabad MDS Admission 2017

No applicant shall be allowed to be admitted to the Dental curriculum of Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course until he/she has passed qualifying exam as under:

(a) The applicant for admission to the Post Graduate Degree in Dental Surgery must have a BDS degree (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) of a University established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or a State Act, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the DCI and must have permanent registration with any State Dental Council. The period of one-year experience/ internship shall be calculated as on 31st March 2017.

(b) The applicant shall produce a certificate of Internship from the date of registration with any State Dental Council, either from an Institution or from a Registered Dental Practitioner.

(c) The college from where the applicant has passed BDS must be a college recognized by the Dental Council of India.

(d) The students who are already admitted and studying MDS course are not eligible to appear for MDS Entrance test until they complete the course or discontinue the course by remitting the bond amount. Final eligibility for admission will be decided by ACDS & Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada (AP).

Exam Pattern for MDS

The entrance test for ACDS will be held as Written Admission Test (WAT). The paper will be of 2 hours duration containing 150 Multiple Choice Questions. Admit cards will be issued to students by ACDS.

Various Centers for PG WAT are: (i) Delhi (Army Public School, Delhi Cantt) and; (ii) Secunderabad (Army School No. 1, RK Puram and Secunderabad).

Type and Conduct of Exam Paper: The test paper will consist of 150 objective type (multiple choices) questions. The standard of the test shall be that of the BDS course; minimum marks required to qualify in Written Admission Test shall be 75.

Each correct answer will fetch one mark whereas incorrect answers, multiple answers or doubtful answers will lead to a deduction of 0.25 marks.

Selection Procedure

The admission will be strictly on NEET merit ranking, based on marks obtained in NEET PG 2017.

The merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by the applicants in the NEET PG-2017.

In case of vacant seats due to certain applicants declining to join/not joining on due date, the vacancy created will be offered to the applicant next in merit and so on.

Relative Merit in Case of Equal Marks:

In the case of applicants securing equal number of marks in NEET PG-2017, their relative merit will be reassessed, inter-se on the basis of the following order of preference:

(a) Applicant securing more aggregate marks in the concerned subject in BDS course.

(b) Seniority in date of birth.

Application Form is Available on website www.acds.co.in. Prospectus and application form are available at the ACDS/Comd HQ (AWES)/Army HQ (AWES), New Delhi.

Application Form can also be downloaded from College website www.acds.co.in in which case the filled up application form has to be accompanied by draft for Rs.750/-. Cost of ACDS MDS Prospectus and Application Form for ACDS – Rs.750/- (by hand through demand draft), Rs.800/- (by registered post)

Applicant must affix adequate postage for registration charges failing which call letter will be dispatched by normal post only.

Important Dates for PG Dental Program 2017

Last date of Receipt of Application Forms by the College: November 20th 2016

Last date of Receipt of Application Form with Late Fee of Rs.300/-: January 31st 2017

Publishing of List of applicants qualified to attend counseling in ACDS Web: March 05th 2017

Date of First Counseling (1 to 50): April 15th 2017

Date of Second Counseling (if vacancy exists after first counseling): April 25th 2017

Date of Physical Joining of selected applicants at ACDS Secunderabad: April 30th 2017

Date of Commencement of MDS Course at ACDS Secunderabad: May 01st 2017
